Gene Simmons of Kiss talked about some of the top musical figures from the 1950s through the 1980s during an interview. He added that The Beatles would never be surpassed as a band. He then acted dismissively when a journalist compared two bands from the 1990s to the Fab Four.
Gene Simmons of Kiss asked a writer to pick "The Beatles of the present era," but the journalist originally declined.
In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Simmons was questioned about his favourite genres of music. The new pop songs are "my favourite sorts of music," he declared. "I don't know much about them, Tame Impala is OK, but the new boys of the world will never have a chance since there is no longer a record industry and because generations of fans have been accustomed to downloading, file-sharing, and streaming music for free.

So, he said, "there won't be another Beatles." "You can play the game, 1958 to 1988 is thirty years, give me the new Beatles from 1988 onward," said the player. "Elvis [Presley], The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson, U2, AC/DC, maybe Kiss." When the interviewer asked Simmons if he believed rock was dead, he disregarded the earlier query. "I'm going to ask you again: who are the new Beatles, from 1988 to the present?" Simmons answered.
Kiss’ The interviewer was labelled "delusional" by Gene Simmons.
Radiohead and Pearl Jam were mentioned by the interviewer. Simmons said, "Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on." "You're speaking to a devoted follower. What would occur if Thom Yorke from [Radiohead] went through Pasadena?

People would be thrilled to see Yorke, according to the interviewer. Simmons said, "I think you're delusional. Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters was able to cross the street without generating a commotion, according to Simmons.
How The Beatles' chart performance compares to that of Pearl Jam and Radiohead
The journalist linked The Beatles to The Who and Radiohead to Pearl Jam. "Last Kiss" and "I Got Id"/"Long Road," two of Pearl Jam's hits, made it to the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Radiohead's hits, on the other hand, failed to enter the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The band's biggest hit is "Creep," which peaked at No. 34 and spent 20 weeks on the list.

Both of these groups didn't fare as well on the Billboard Hot 100 as The Beatles did. 34 songs by the Fab Four made it into the top 10 of the charts. Twenty of those songs were No. 1 hits.

Despite being iconic rock bands, Pearl Jam and Radiohead, according to Simmons, are not the Beatles.
