In her new role as the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton visits the hospitals maternity ward.

With William now first in line to the throne, Prince William and Kate are now more senior members of the royal family and have new titles. The couple, however, is eager to show that much of the work they began as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will continue, and they did this today by participating in two different engagements.

The Princess of Wales went to the maternity ward at the Royal Surrey County Hospital to learn more about how it helps expectant mothers and new moms. Kate chatted with members of the Jasmine Team, which assists pregnant women with mental health issues, while wearing a face mask and a bright yellow dress. Prior to the visit, Kensington Palace released a statement saying, "The Princess is enthusiastic about promoting the mental welfare of mothers and recently became Patron of the Maternal Mental Health Alliance." Kate was also supposed to visit the hospital's Special Care Baby Unit and talk to a family who had benefited from their assistance. The Early Years remain a crucial component of the Princess's work, and the public can anticipate hearing more from her on this in the upcoming months, a royal source highlighted today.
The new Prince of Wales also wanted to demonstrate that he is still committed to the Football Association, which he became the patron of in 2006. To commemorate its tenth anniversary as the home of English football, he went to St. George's Park in Staffordshire, in the west Midlands. "St. George's Park has supported a huge breadth of grassroots engagement alongside professional training, sports science, and coach education since 2012 to help foster a thriving football community across England," Kensington Palace noted. "It also serves as the base for the national senior men's and women's, para, and development squads." His Royal Highness will meet with and learn from para-football players, young players from the area, and participants at this year's Street Child World Cup during the Prince of Wales' tour, which will highlight the diversity of sport.
