The 34-year-old actor, who portrays Anthony Bridgerton, the oldest of the Bridgerton siblings, and who stole the show's spotlight in the second season's release earlier this year, has been cast in the upcoming movie version of the stage musical Wicked, it has been reported.

The director tweeted to corroborate the information: "Both he and they are flawless. They'd make the ideal couple. Born to last a lifetime... I can't pretend this hasn't been occurring because I'm too excited. The Fiyero has arrived! #JonathanBailey #Wicked."

Fans started to worry that Jonathan might leave Bridgerton soon, like season one's Regé-Jean Page, not long after the announcement of his casting was officially announced. One Twitter user questioned, "Does this imply Jonathan won't return to Bridgerton next season?"

Jonathan Bailey is about to become a superstar, and another person who shared the same perspective wrote: "I'm hoping he won't give up on Bridgerton like some individuals."

The revelation was confirmed on Twitter by the director Jon M. Chu.

But according to a third fan, he might not actually be scheduled to make many appearances in the third season of the Shondaland drama.

"I don't think it will require that much filming time because his season is gone. The schedules of actors have previously been accommodated. Even if it's in a reduced capacity while they are able to take on more significant projects on the side, I believe it pays to be in a long-running show to maintain their profile relevant."

Jonathan has a number of intriguing new projects in the works in addition to Wicked. He will co-star with Matt Bomer in the gay romance drama Fellow Travelers, and he has also been cast as a voice actor in the video game Squadron 42, which also stars Gary Oldman and Mark Strong.
