A three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Astoria, Oregon has gone on the market for $1.65 million, nearly 40 years after acting as one of the key settings in 1985's The Goonies. However, as the loft looks to have been transformed into an additional bedroom with a separate bathroom painted in gold, there are probably no more treasure maps to be discovered.

The Astoria-Warrenton Chamber of Commerce calculated that during The Goondocks, an annual commemoration of the film, 12,000 to 15,000 people visited the house in 2015. The film's 30th anniversary was celebrated that year. After the festival's record attendance that August, Sandi Preston, who acknowledged that she purchased the home as a fan of the film and frequently welcomed other cinephiles to visit, requested assistance from the city to help keep people off her land.
Over the years, the Goonies cast has come together multiple times.
