Ruby Rose Joins War Thriller Set in Afghanistan Clean Angels

The actress Ruby Rose has joined the cast of Dirty Angels, a thriller that takes place as US troops are leaving Afghanistan. Eva Green from Casino Royale will co-star with her, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie will centre on a group of female troops who pose as medical personnel during the chaotic 2021 withdrawal in order to save a group of abducted adolescents who are trapped between ISIS and the Taliban's forces. The plot is entirely fictional, even though it takes place during the actual US withdrawal from the country that is embroiled in civil war. Martin Campbell, a seasoned action director, will take the helm.
The third season of Netflix's Orange is the New Black was where model-turned-actor Rose first attracted widespread attention thanks to a cameo appearance. Since then, she has enjoyed a successful career in action films including The Meg, John Wick: Chapter 2, and XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. She also starred as Batwoman on the CW superhero show, although she quit the show after the first season due to a disagreement with the producers regarding set safety. She most recently appeared in the Esports drama 1UP, and her next project is the Taurus, which will be directed by Machine Gun Kelly.

Campbell has directed two James Bond movies (Goldeneye and Casino Royale), The Mask of Zorro and its sequel, The Legend of Zorro, as well as the DC superhero movie Green Lantern. Campbell is an expert in high-octane thrillers. The hitman thriller Memory starring Liam Neeson was his most recent project as a director. Green gained notoriety with the Sean Campbell-directed Casino Royale after having a significant part in Bernardo Bertolucci's erotic drama The Dreamers; since then, she has appeared in 300: Rise of an Empire, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, as well as the Showtime horror series Penny Dreadful. She co-starred with Mark Strong in the psychological thriller Nocebo this year, and in an impending trilogy of Three Musketeers movies, she'll portray the cunning Milady.
Alissa Silverman is working on the Dirty Angels script. Moshe Diamant of Signature Pictures and Rob Van Norden and Yariv Lerner of Millennium Media are the producers. Avi Lerner, Boaz Davidson, Trevor Short, Jonathan Yunger, and Jeffrey Greenstein of Millennium Media will serve as executive producers.
