Punlapa Margaret Taylor-Buttery (born January 20, 1983) is a Thai actress, model, and presenter of British heritage. She is also known as Paula Taylor (Thai: ) or Punlapa Supa-aksorn (Thai: ; RTGS: Phanlapha Suppha-akson).
Taylor was born in Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. The family relocated to Australia two weeks after she was born. Her mother is of Thai Chinese origin, while her father is English. She grew up in Perth, Western Australia, and relocated to Brisbane, Queensland, when she was nine years old, following her parents' divorce. Taylor earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Assumption University.
She was asked if she would be interested in modelling while visiting her family in Thailand. She began her career in commercials and minor Thai films before landing a job as a regular VJ for Channel V Thailand. Tanawat Wansom, a television producer, discovered her and she swiftly went to stardom as a sought-after television hostess and presenter. She co-starred in the Thai romance comedy film The Memory in 2006.
Asia's Amazing Race 2
Taylor competed on The Amazing Race Asia 2 alongside her childhood friend Natasha Monks. They finished last in the ninth leg, however it was a non-elimination leg. However, in Leg 10, which was held in Hungary, they finished last for the second time, making them the sixth eliminated pair. They came in fifth place in the race.
She appeared as the local greeter at the Pit Stop of the first leg of the Amazing Race Asia 3 alongside presenter Allan Wu.
Taylor made her Hollywood debut in the 2011 picture Hellgate, alongside William Hurt and Cary Elwes. Her face and name have become well-known in various Southeast Asian nations as a result of her participation in the Amazing Race Asia. In 2009, she won a major role in Love On Line, a film starring Filipino comic Vic Sotto in which she plays a version of herself. She has also appeared as a guest host on Eat Bulaga!, where Sotto is a regular. She appears in the Sunday variety show SOP on Philippine television. She now lives in Hong Kong and London, where she is mostly focused on raising her children, but she regularly travels throughout Asia for commercials and television guest appearances.
In 2010, Taylor married Anglo-Chinese businessman Edward Buttery. They have three kids.
