After more than five years, Kendrick Lamar eventually released his debut studio album in May. As his fifth album, this was "Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers."
In total, Kendrick contributed 18 songs for the double album. On this effort, he also worked with celebrities like Kodak Black, Summer Walker, Ghostface Killah, Baby Keem, and others. Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers eventually became his third straight number-one album. Additionally, it had the highest album first-week sales in 2022 at the time.
Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers have just accomplished yet another significant milestone. According to Chart Data, it has sold over 1 million units in the US, earning it platinum certification. At least one of Kendrick's most recent four albums has achieved this platinum status.
Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers will be Kendrick's final album for Top Dawg Entertainment, he also said more than a year ago. He has spent more than 15 years working for this Los Angeles-based record company. Kendrick is currently working on his PgLang record label, which has so far enjoyed a lot of success. Baby Keem, who is a relative of Kendrick, is also listed on this roster.
