Marina Andreevna Pupenina, also known as Marina Aleksandrova (Russian: aрина ндреевна уенина; born 29 August 1982), is a Russian actress best known for her portrayal of Catherine the Great in the television series Ekaterina. She was named a Russian Federation Honored Artist in 2016.
Biography
On August 29, 1982, in the Hungarian village of Kiskunmajsa, he was born. Her father, Andrei Pupenin, was a Soviet Army officer stationed in Hungary, while her mother was a professor at Herzen University.
The family relocated to Lake Baikal in 1986, then to Tula before settling in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) in 1987. After graduating from high school in 1996 with specialities in mathematics and music (harp), she attended the Imagine theatre school and the Shukin Theatre School under Valentina Nikolaenko.
From 2006 through 2011, she worked as an actress for Moscow's Sovremennik Theater Company.
Private life
Aleksandrova married fellow actor Ivan Stebunov on June 7, 2008. In 2010, they divorced. Following that, she was in a relationship with actor Alexander Domogarov. She gave birth to a son on July 11, 2012. Andrey is the child's name, named after his father, TV director Andrey Boltenko. On September 26, 2015, Aleksandrova gave birth to her second child, a daughter called Yekaterina.
