Drashti Khemka Dhami is an Indian actress, model, and dancer who primarily appears on Hindi television. She was born on January 10, 1985. She is one of the most well-known Hindi television actresses, having appeared in various famous series for which she has garnered praise from critics, including Dill Mill Gayye, Geet, Madhubala, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil, and Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka. Dhami competed in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 in 2013 alongside choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan and won.
She has also dabbled in web series, appearing as Ira Jaykar in the ZEE5 criminal drama Duranga and Khanzada Begum in The Empire from 2021. (2022).
childhood and family
Dhami was born into a Gujarati household on January 10th, 1985 in Mumbai, where she attended school. She attended Mithibai College in Mumbai and Mary Immaculate Girl's High School, earning a sociology degree there. Dhami was a dance instructor before she started modeling. Dhami is from a traditional household. She stated in an interview with The Times of India that she had to get approval from ten different family members, including my closest cousins, before accepting the offer to dance in a music video. My cousin was the one who helped me, persuaded everyone, and now stands by me anytime I need to make a choice regarding my job. Therefore, it hasn't been simple for me, but I always have the support of my family.
In a customary Hindu ceremony, Dhami wed businessman Neeraj Khemka on February 21, 2015. Her older brother Jaisheel Dhami is married to Suhasi Dhami, who is also an actor. According to Dhami, her in-laws are highly supportive of her career.
Career 2007–2011: The start of my career and my first show
Before making her debut in the entertainment industry with her appearance in the music video "Saiyyan Dil Mein Aana Re," Dhami began her modeling career for print and television advertisements. She went on to work in advertisements for brands like Colgate, Lion Honey, Pulimoottil Silks, Vasan Eyecare, RKS Grand, Amul, VIP Bags, Chevrolet, and Reliance.
In the popular Star One program Dill Mill Gayye, where she played Dr. Muskaan Chadda from 2007 to 2009, Dhami made her television acting debut. She took part in Ekta Kapoor's reality series Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket in 2008. She costarred with Gurmeet Choudhary in Star One's Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi in 2010 as the show's female lead. With this part, Dhami gained notoriety for her portrayal of the character Geet. After the channel was shut down in December 2011, the show came to an end.
In 2010, Dhami appeared on the reality series Big Money: Chota Parda Bada Game on Imagine TV. She participated in Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan in the same year, another reality program.
2012–present: Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Madhubala 6
Dhami made a guest appearance in the program Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha in May 2012. Later, from 2012 to 2014, she co-starred with Vivian Dsena in the show Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on Colors TV. Dhami competed in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6, a prominent dance reality program on Colors TV, in 2013, and she and her choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan won. Dhami hosted Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 in June 2014. However, Manish Paul eventually took her place. Dhami played for the Mumbai Wariors team in the Sony TV Box Cricket League in December 2014.
In 2015, Dhami costarred with Siddhant Karnick as Rani Gayatri in Zee TV's Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani. "I do feel a little under pressure since 'Madhubala' was such a success," Gayatri, who was played by Dhami, remarked. But I also want to see how my audience responds to my new show. My friends and family are also very excited," "It was challenging to speak in the dialect that was popular at the time. That was difficult. I had no problems with the position aside from that.
She departed the program in May 2016. In the same year, she co-starred in the online series I Don't Watch TV with a number of other well-known TV personalities, including Karan Patel, Nakuul Mehta, Karan Wahi, Disha Parmar, Sanaya Irani, and Kritika Kamra.
Dhami joined Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil on Star Plus in November 2016 as Naina Batra, playing Arjun Bijlani's opposite. The program stopped airing in June 2017.
She portrayed Nandini, a victim of domestic abuse who falls in love with her best friend's husband, in Colors TV's Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka from June to October 2018 alongside Shakti Arora. She was commended by an India Today critic who compared her to Sriti Jha, another television actress who has previously played a victim of domestic abuse. In November 2018, she left the program.

In 2011, Dhami gave special dance performances on shows including Chhoti Bahu - Sawar Ke Rang Rachi, Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo and Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani. She appeared as a guest in 2012 to advertise her show Madhubala on Colors TV's Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha.
She appeared as a guest on Nach Baliye 5 in March 2013 to show support for her sister-in-law Suhasi Dhami and brother Jaisheel Dhami. Dhami made a cameo on Mission Sapne on Colors TV in June 2014, and she then made another appearance on Comedy Nights with Kapil. She appeared as a guest on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 in September 2015 to promote Sanaya Irani.
Other tasks
Dhami supported the campaign to "Save Our Planet" by serving as the brand ambassador for Canada's Environment Week in 2011 and 2013. She participated in the Swachh Survekshan 2017 Initiative in 2016 to make India's environment cleaner. (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan).
Dhami also served as the team captain for Team "D" in the 2016 Celebrity Championship, a competition between six teams and 78 television stars to raise money and awareness for underprivileged children. She won the "I HELP A KID.COM" Celebrity Championship and was given an award.
Dhami was named the 2017 Bajaj Brahmi Amla Ayurvedic Hair oil brand ambassador.

She received the most favorable ratings for a television actress in 2011 from TellyChakkar.com surveys. She represents the SoColor hair color line from MATRIX India as a brand ambassador.
On Rediff's list of "Television's Top 10 Actresses," Dhami came in second. Dhami is also listed in Rediff's top nine list of the most fashionable on-screen actors in Indian television. She was included in the list of the "50 Sexiest Asian Women" by the UK publication Eastern Eye. According to Eastern Eye, she was ranked number twelve in 2012. After that, she held one of the top three slots for three years in a row, placing third in 2013, second in 2014, third in 2015, fourth in 2016, sixth in 2017, and twelfth in 2018. Dhami came in at number ten on the list of the 100 sexiest women in India in 2014. Dhami was a nominee for FHM India's "Sexiest Woman" list in 2016.
MensXP.com, an Indian lifestyle website for men, ranked Dhami eighth among the "35 Hottest Actresses in Indian Television." In The Times of India's 2014 list of the "50 Most Desirable Women," she came in at number 38. Dhami was listed alongside Hrithik Roshan as the most desirable woman in an Indian survey conducted in 2017.
Dhami was given the chance to compete on Bigg Boss, but she turned it down. Dhami was compared to actress Zeenat Aman by filmmaker Karan Johar during her dancing performance on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6. When Dhami sang the song "Halkat Jawani" from the movie Heroine on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6, director Karan Johar praised her, claiming she is superior to Kareena Kapoor. She is also known as Maaneet because of her chemistry with Gurmeet Choudhary and as Madhubala from her television series Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.
