The Diablos, led by co-captains Abby (Kerri Medders) and McKayla (Tiera Skovbye), are prevented by their overprotective principal (Missi Pyle) from performing any dangerous cheer stunts for fear of being laughed out of the forthcoming regional cheer tournament. They devise a strategy to choreograph a winning performance in an abandoned school in the area. The cheerleaders show up for practise at the school, but then they start to vanish one by one. It could be too late for any of them to escape once they learn they're trapped inside with a murderer. A murderer forces them to cheer or die, so they'll have to utilise all their skills to survive.
Cheer or Die's signature stunts are once again being created by Tony Gonzalez, the producer and choreographer of the Bring It On franchise.
