Bridget Catherine Regan, an American actress who was born on February 3, 1982, is best known for her roles as Jane the Virgin's Rose Solano, Dottie Underwood, and Kahlan Amnell in the television series Legend of the Seeker. From 2016 through 2018, she played Sasha Cooper on the TNT drama series The Last Ship.

Childhood And Education

Bridget Catherine Regan was raised Catholic and was raised in an Irish American home. She was born in Carlsbad, California. She developed an early interest in acting and started performing as a young girl in North County performances of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Carlsbad and The Wizard of Oz at the La Paloma Theatre.

Regan graduated with a BFA in drama in 2004 from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She relocated to New York City after graduating from college in order to pursue a career as an actor.

Career Since 2006, Regan has made appearances in a number of movies and television programs. She started shooting Legend of the Seeker, a TV series based on Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth novels, in 2008. She attracted a cult following thanks to her portrayal of Mother Confessor Kahlan Amnell. Regan, a redhead by birth, had her hair colored brown for the part. She made her producing debut in 2009 with the musical Camp Wanatachi, which was staged at the La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York.

Regan met writer Eamon O'Sullivan in New Zealand while filming Legend of the Seeker, and they are now married. Their children are a son (born 2018) and a daughter (born 2010).
