Bruno Mars has accomplished a new professional milestone. The RIAA has formally awarded diamond certification to the musician's 2012 chart-topper "Locked Out Of Heaven."
The well-known performer has now earned six Diamond Single Awards, making her the first artist in the history of the RIAA's Gold and Platinum Program to do so.
"Just the Way You Are," "Grenade," "When I Was Your Man," "That's What I Like," and the joint collaboration "Uptown Funk" with Mark Ronson are the other five Bruno Mars songs to achieve diamond status.
On April 3, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Silk Sonic's Bruno Mars, Dernst Emile II, and Anderson.Paak win the Song Of The Year award for "Leave The Door Open."
With "Locked Out Of Heaven," Mars' sixth song to reach 1 billion listens on the platform, he also served as the former cover star for Spotify's BILLIONS CLUB playlist. The following songs contribute to the record-breaking number of streams: "Uptown Funk!," "24K Magic," "When I Was Your Man," "Just The Way You Are," and "That's What I Like."
Future singles by the Honolulu-raised performer are sure to surpass 1 billion streams and earn more diamond records.
With An Evening With Silk Sonic, Bruno Mars and Anderson.Paak have added a number of victories to their résumés this year. For their lead song, "Leave The Door Open," the R&B Funk pair won Grammy Awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance, and Best R&B Song. The album has earned a platinum certification.
Mars is now scheduled to headline the first two live and exclusive performances at Sydney, Australia's Allianz Stadium later this month. The performances mark the first two completely sold-out dates of the arena's opening entertainment events.
