Tao Okamoto (, Okamoto Tao, born May 22, 1985), professionally known as Tao, is a Japanese actress and model who, together with Ai Tominaga and Hiroko Matsumoto, is one of Japan's top models. She was one of Ralph Lauren's faces in 2009.

She made her film debut in 2013 as the female lead Mariko Yashida in The Wolverine, and she played Mercy Graves in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016. She has appeared in several episodes of Hannibal, The Man in the High Castle, and Westworld.

Tao was born in the Japanese city of Chiba. When she was 14, she began modeling in Japan as a teenager.

She decided to go to Paris in 2006 in order to further her international career. Soon after, Tao made her European runway debut as one of the few notable East Asian models of the time.

Tao relocated to New York City in 2009.

Tao has experience working on commercial and editorial projects. She has appeared in campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, Emporio Armani by Alasdair McLellan, Kenzo by Mario Sorrenti, and Tommy Hilfiger by Craig McDean. She has photographed for i-D Magazine, V Magazine, W Magazine, and several international editions of Harper's Bazaar and Vogue.

Tao is featured in the November 2009 issue of Vogue Nippon (Japanese Vogue). She was named "Model of the Year" by the Japan Fashion Editors Club and one of Vogue Nippon's "Women of the Year" in 2010.

Acting

Tao made her film debut in The Wolverine in 2013 as Mariko Yashida, opposite Hugh Jackman. It was revealed in October 2014 that she has joined the cast of Hannibal as Chiyoh, Hannibal Lecter's family servant. Tao was cast in the film Crossroads alongside Alodia Gosiengfiao in January 2015. Tao made her television debut in 2015 as Betty Kasoura, the wife of lawyer Paul Kasoura and a customer at Robert Childan's American Artistic Handcrafts. Tao appeared as Mercy Graves in the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Okamoto married Tenzin Wild, the Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Last Magazine, in 2015.
