Sriti Jha (born February 26, 1986) is an Indian actress who works mostly in Hindi television. In 2007, she made her acting debut as Malini Sharma in Dhoom Machaao Dhoom. Jha rose to prominence with her depiction of Pragya Arora in Kumkum Bhagya, for which she received several honors, including the Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role and the ITA Award for Best Actress Drama.

Childhood and education
Jha was born in Begusarai, Bihar, India on February 26, 1986. She moved to Kolkata with her family for ten years before relocating to Kathmandu, Nepal. They then relocated to New Delhi, where she attended Laxman Public School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Sri Venkateswara College in New Delhi. Meenakshi is her elder sister.

Career
Jha made her television debut as Malini Sharma in Disney India's teen drama Dhoom Machaao Dhoom in 2007. She later appeared in Jiya Jale, where she played Sunaina Kotak. Jha has appeared with Saroj Khan in the dancing reality show Nachle Ve. She portrayed Suhani in Star Plus's Shaurya Aur Suhani in 2009. She rose to notoriety on NDTV with her role as Jyoti, a split personality sufferer. In Dil Se Di Dua... Saubhagyavati Bhava?, she portrayed Jhanvi Dobriyal, a victim of domestic violence. She portrayed Ganga in Colors TV's Balika Vadhu in 2013. Jha gained widespread critical acclaim and accolades for her performance as Pragya Mehra in Ekta Kapoor's Kumkum Bhagya, in which she co-starred with Shabir Ahluwalia. With her portrayal of Pragya, she became a household celebrity and received multiple honors.
In 2022, she competed in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 12, which was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, and finished in tenth place. In the same year, she competed in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 as a wildcard entry, finishing fifth.
Work done away from the camera
Jha performed a poem, "Confessions Of An Asexual Romantic," during the 2020 Kommune India Spoken Fest in January 2021, in which she discussed how an asexual's life may be and how there is a lack of freedom in India when it comes to discussing one's sexuality. She explained in an interview that she is not an asexual and that the poetry is not about her. She also delivered two other poems about persons with varied sexual inclinations and the issues they experience, including "Choodiyaan," about a gay guy, and "Chaabi Gum Gai Hai," about a lesbian female. In "It's Pehla Pyaar Every Time," she discusses how each time we fall in love, it feels like the first time.
Her other works, such as "To Like? Or To Love?" distinguish between loving and liking and how liking is limitless while love is limited. Jha's first open letter, "A Letter To Myself," is about what she wishes she could tell her 15-year-old self and how we should never compromise under any circumstances. In this partnership with ITC Vivel, Jha encourages women to uncondition, defy preconceptions, and go forward with confidence to accomplish their aspirations and scream out loud, "Ab Samjhauta Nahin." She also narrated a poem called "Cheesy Stupid Ishq" a day before Valentine's Day in 2021.
