Sharma was born on August 7, 1995, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to a Hindu household. She earned her bachelor's degree from St. Xavier's College in Mumbai. Sharma wanted to be a journalist but decided to pursue acting instead.

Career Beginnings and Early Roles (2014-2016)
Sharma made her acting debut in Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar as Nishi Khanna Shah, alongside Mehul Vyas, from 2014 to 2015. She played Priyanka "Priya" Prabhakar Datar in Badi Doooor Se Aaye Hai in 2014. In 2015, she played Chandini Kapoor opposite Darsheel Safary in Yeh Hai Aashiqui Sun Yaar Try Maar.
In 2016, she played Shubhi Deshpande alongside Kinshuk Vaidya in Yeh Hai Aashiqui. In the same year, Sharma played Gauri Shukla in Kahani Hamari... Dil Dosti Deewanepan Ki, opposite Karan Wahi. The show lasted one month.
Sharma made her Hindi film debut in 2016 with Neeraj Pandey's M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, co-starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kiara Advani and starring her as Ritu, Dhoni's wife's friend.
Breakthrough and achievement (2017-present)
From 2017 to 2018, Sharma played Dr. Kanak Rathi Toshniwal in Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh, Piyaji, alongside Avinesh Rekhi. It proved to be a watershed moment in her career. Sharma's performance was nominated for a Gold Award for Debut in a Lead Role (Female).
In 2018, she played Komal Mishra alongside Ruslaan Mumtaz in Laal Ishq. The same year, she played Anjali Sharma opposite Vishal Singh in Kumkum Bhagya, a remake of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
From 2019 to 2020, Sharma was successful and praised for her depiction of Mishti Agarwal Rajvansh opposite Shaheer Sheikh in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. Her performance earned her a nomination for a Gold Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role. Her chemistry with Sheikh was recognized, and they were awarded the Gold Best Onscreen Jodi Award at the same occasion.
