Mahima Makwana (born 5 August 1999) is an Indian actress who has appeared in television shows as well as films in Hindi and Telugu.

After making her television debut as a child artist in Miley Jab Hum Tum and Balika Vadhu, Makwana rose to prominence and became a household name as Rachna in Zee TV^/s popular soap opera Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, after which she went on to establish herself as one of the promising TV actresses with lead roles in several other television shows.
Makwana made her Hindi cinema debut in 2021 with the action thriller film Antim, starring Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma.
Biography
Makwana was born and raised in Mumbai. Her father worked in construction and died when she was five months old. Their mother, a veteran social worker, reared Makwana and her older brother. Makwana graduated from Mary Immaculate Girls^/ High School. Makwana holds a bachelor^/s degree in public communication.
Career Television
Makwana began auditioning for acting roles at the age of ten and has been in a few television commercials. Her Colors TV debut was Mohe Rang De, and she later starred as a child artiste in CID, Aahat, Miley Jab Hum Tum, and Jhansi Ki Rani. She appeared as a child Gudiya/Gauri in the Colors TV program Balika Vadhu in 2009.
Makwana was cast as the parallel lead in Sawaare Sabke Sapne... Preeto on Imagine TV in 2011. Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, a Zee TV blockbuster soap opera, was her first significant starring role. In an interview, Mahima stated that getting to this point in her career had not been simple, and that she had participated in over 500 auditions prior to Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke.
After Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Makawana starred as Ram Kapoor and Gurdeep Kohli^/s daughter in Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane in March 2015. Makwana signed Adhuri Kahaani Hamari in November 2015, following the end of Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane in August. She played the lead recreational role of Manasvini Choudhry/Radhika Khosla.
Makwana starred as Mandira in an episode of Zing^/s youth show Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya in 2015, opposite Nikhil Chaddha.
Makwana starred as Anami Baldev Singh in the Star Plus program Rishton Ka Chakravyuh in August 2017.
Makwana took over as the female lead role of Mariam in the Star Plus show Mariam Khan - Reporting Live after the departure of Deshna Dugad in October 2018. Makwana played Rani Dave Reshammiya in Colors TV^/s Shubharambh from December 2019 to November 2020.
Films
Makwana made her film debut in 2017 with the Telugu film Venkatapuram.
Makwana played Natasha in the short film Take 2 in September 2019. Take 2 was chosen and shown at the 10th Jagran Film Festival 2019, the 10th Zumba Film Festival, and the Asian Film Festival in Los Angeles, Hollywood. Take 2 won ^/BEST FOREIGN FILM^/ and ^/Best Festival Themed Film^/ at the Real-time Film Festival in Nigeria in 2020.
Makwana makes her digital debut as Chiku in Rangbaaz Season 2 in 2019. Makwana played Zoya in the web series Flesh in 2020.
Makwana appeared in the Tollywood-Hollywood film Mosagallu in March 2021, alongside Kajal Agarwal, Vishnu Manchu, and Suniel Shetty.
Makwana was cast as the female protagonist in Antim: The Final Truth, starring Aayush Sharma, in December 2020. On November 26, 2021, Antim: The Final Truth was released to mixed to good reviews from critics. According to Bollywood Hungama, she "makes a confident debut and is memorable in the scene where she blasts Aayush."

Yes, I missed out on the formative school and college days of my life, but I think everything happened for a reason.”
She added,
Initially, there are a lot of preconceived notions for television actors because according to them, TV stars do a lot of overacting. But, it’s not overacting because actors are performing according to the demands of the script and the medium. There was a time when I was doing TV and I used to audition for a lot of films. I was scrutinised and looked down upon just because I was working for TV. However, times are changing now and the lines are blurring. We have filmmakers like Mahesh who just see the potential in an actor and the work that they do. And that’s how it should be because we are often judged by the medium we work for.”
