Biographie

She leaves as a young adult to visit her "gentleman" friend in Ratchaburi province. They are married and have children, but her husband abuses and batters her. After ten years of miserable life, she musters the fortitude to take two hands and flee to Nong Khai with her two children. She leaves her children with their grandparents and travels to Bangkok in search of work.
She works as a caddie for golfers and then as a housewife. After that, she opens her own fashion boutique.
It is not until the early 2000s, at the age of 40, that she begins her true cinematic career, with a few public appearances and minor roles in films and television series, such as the role of a servant in Nonzee Nimibutr's Jan Dara (2001).
In 2002, she stars as one of the main characters in Apitchatpong Weerasethakul's film Blissfully Yours.
However, in 2003, she was involved in a motorbike accident that left one of her limbs paralysed: she now has a handicap, as her right limb is longer than the left. As a result, she ends her acting career.
However, Apichatpong is able to persuade her to relive her past lives in his films, including Oncle Boonmee, Who Remembers His Past Lives (2010; Cannes Film Festival Golden Lion) and Cemetery of Splendour (2015).
She currently resides in her hometown of Nong Khai with her American boyfriend, Frank Widner. She wishes to spend the rest of her days there while earning a living by making handmade items.
In Cemetery of Splendour, Jenjira Pongpas mentions her plan to operate on herself with humour: she would prefer that one rallonge her right leg, which is longer than the other by a few centimetres, rather than raccourcissing her left leg, which appears to be easier and less painful because she would prefer to grow in size.
