Athiya Shetty is an Indian actress who was born on November 5, 1992. She is the daughter of actor Suniel Shetty and has starred in the Hindi movie Hero (2015), Mubarakan (2017), and Motichoor Chaknachoor (2019).
Shetty was born in Bombay (now Mumbai) on November 5, 1992, to actor Suniel Shetty and filmmaker Mana Shetty. Her father is from the Tulu-speaking Bunt community, but her mother is the daughter of a Punjabi Hindu mother and a Gujarati Muslim father. Her younger brother, Ahan Shetty, is also an actor who made his debut in the film Tadap (2021).

Shetty attended Cathedral and John Connon Schools before transferring to the American School of Bombay. She appeared in school plays alongside Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. She moved to New York City to attend the New York Film Academy because she wanted to be an actress.

Shetty made her acting debut in 2015 with Hero, a remake of co-producer Subhash Ghai's 1983 classic of the same name directed by Nikhil Advani. The film, which was produced by Salman Khan and co-written by Advani and Umesh Bist, grossed 34.82 crore (US$4.4 million). She played Radha Mathur, a Mumbai-based aspiring dancer who falls in love with her abductor Sooraj (Sooraj Pancholi), a mobster who is attempting to ransom her police chief father, IG Shrikant Mathur. She was nominated for a Filmfare award for Best Female Debut for her portrayal of Radha. According to Bollywood Hungama, a renowned Indian website, ′′Shetty needs more time to polish her acting skills′′. Following her debut, she became a brand ambassador for Maybelline New York's Indian franchise and appeared on the pages of high-profile magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Verve, Harper's Bazaar, and many more.
Shetty returned to the big screen after a two-year absence, in Anees Bazmee's romantic comedy Mubarakan, alongside Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Ileana D'Cruz. The film, which was shot in Punjab and London, was a box office success despite being viewed as a flop, grossing 93.59 crores. She portrayed Binkle Sandhu, a humble Punjabi girl who falls in love with Charan (Arjun Kapoor), but her wedding is set up with Charan's twin brother Karan, who wishes to marry his love interest Sweety (D'Cruz). Shetty's acting in the film earned positive to mixed reviews, while the film received mixed to poor reviews. In 2018, she appeared in a song called "Tere Naal Nachna," composed, written, and sung by Badshah, and featuring newcomer singer Sunanda Sharma, for the film Nawabzaade, produced by Remo D'Souza and directed by choreographer Jayesh Pradhan, and starring Raghav Juyal, Dharmesh Yelande, and Punit Pathak.
Shetty was afterwards cast in Debamitra Biswal's comic drama Motichoor Chaknachoor, alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui, playing Anita "Ani" Awasthi, a young woman desperate to settle overseas by marrying an NRI. The film received mixed reviews at its initial release.
Shetty will next be featured in footballer Afshan Ashiq's biography Hope Solo, in which she will portray the title role.
Shetty married her long-term partner, Indian cricketer KL Rahul, on January 23, 2023.
