Biography
Ananda Matthew Everingham was born in Laos to Keo Sirisomphone and an Australian father, Bangkok-based photojournalist John Everingham. He has Lao and Australian ancestors.
His parents^/ narrative was partially based on the 1983 NBC television movie Love Is Forever, starring Michael Landon and Laura Gemser, about a photojournalist who scuba dives beneath the Mekong River in 1977 to rescue his beloved from communist-ruled Laos. In 1997, his parents split. John married a Chinese woman again. Ananda has one sibling and two half-siblings.
Ananda was born in Thailand and attended Patana School in Bangkok. He has Australian citizenship and spent his school vacations in Brisbane, Australia.
Ananda has also been in the horror-comedy Ghost Delivery and the teen-slasher film 303 Fear Faith Revenge, in addition to Shutter. He appeared in the Singaporean romance film The Leap Years in 2005. He starred in the romance dramas Me... Myself and Bangkok Time two years later. He appeared in the Singaporean film Pleasure Factory as well as Pen-ek Ratanaruang^/s Ploy.
In 2008, he appeared not only in Nonzee Nimibutr^/s Queen of Langkasuka, but also in Sabaidee Luang Prabang, the first Laotian commercial film produced since the country^/s communist takeover in 1975.
