Zain Imam is an Indian television actor who primarily works in Hindi. He is best known for his roles as Neil Khanna in Star Plus's Naamkaran and Yuvraj Luthra in Zee TV's Tashan-E-Ishq, for which he received Gold Awards for Best Actor in Negative Role. Imam appeared in Colors TV's stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 in 2019.
He was most recently seen in Colors TV's Fanaa: Ishq Mein Marjawan as Agastya Raichand until August 2022.
Career
Early career and achievement (2014–2017)
Imam began his career as a model, working for agencies such as Aldo Group and doing a few TV commercials before making his debut on Hindi television. His first acting role was in the MTV India television series Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, in which he played Abhimanyu Thakkar.
From 2015 to 2016, he portrayed Yuvraj Luthra in Zee TV's love triangle Tashan-e-Ishq, opposite Jasmin Bhasin. He won the Gold Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for his work on the show.
Then, from October 2016 to January 2017, he was cast as Abir Dharmadhikari, the new male lead of Zee TV's Yeh Vaada Raha.
Establishment and other initiatives (2017–2021)
Imam's breakthrough came when he was cast as ACP Neil Khanna in StarPlus' romantic drama Naamkarann alongside Aditi Rathore after a generation gap. The show concluded in May of 2018.
After appearing in an episode of &TV's Laal Ishq with Mahhi Vij, Imam joined the popular StarPlus series Ishqbaaaz in September 2018 as Mohit Malhotra, a full-fledged antagonist.
Imam made his reality show debut in 2019 when he competed in the adventure stunt-based show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9, finishing in ninth place.
In StarPlus' mystery revenge drama Ek Bhram Sarvagun Sampanna, he played Kabir Mittal, a former army officer. In 2020, he appeared in the T-Series music video Tanhaai by Tulsi Kumar.
Imam made his digital debut in 2021 with the web series Crashh, in which he played Dr. Rishabh Sachdeva alongside Rohan Mehra, Kunj Anand, Aditi Sharma, and Anushka Sen.
Return of television (2022–present)
Imam returned to television after a three-year hiatus, playing Agastya Raichand, an obsessive/possessive lover and the main protagonist in Gul Khan's Fanaa: Ishq Mein Marjawan on Colors TV, opposite Reem Shaikh. which he received applause from the audience. The show concluded on September 2, 2022.
