Yasemin Kay Allen (born July 11, 1989) is a Turkish-English actress.

The early years

Yasemin Kay Allen was born in London on July 10, 1989, to English father Dudley Allen and English-Turkish actress and singer Sonja Eady. Following her first marriage in 1974 to Turkish actor Kayhan Yldzolu, Eady took the name Suna Yldzolu and gained Turkish citizenship. Yasemin is a dual Turkish-British citizen as a result of her mother's adopted Turkish citizenship, despite not being ethnically Turkish. She stated that she is of 50% English and 25% Australian ancestry.

Kaan is her brother's name. When she was three months old, her family relocated to Turkey. She moved to Australia with her mother after finishing elementary school. She studied cinema, television, drama, and Japanese there. She was awarded a scholarship from the University of Queensland. When she was eighteen, she returned to Turkey. Then she received a degree in Theater Arts from Müjdat Gezen Konservatuar.

Career

Yasemin Allen reached the finals of the L'Oréal competition. In the same year, she starred in the Turkish television series Elif. In 2010, she starred as Elena in the Turkish version of Dawson's Creek, Kavak Yelleri, and Juliette in another TV series, Yerden Yüksek. For these roles, she assumed French and Russian accents. She can do a variety of Turkish and English accents. She appeared in "Elif," "Yerden Yüksek," and "46 Yok Olan" for the third time with her mother.

She portrayed Pelin Akca in Hayat Devam Ediyor in 2011. In 2013, she portrayed Irmak Tunal in the television series Merhamet. She appeared in N11.com shopping site advertisements the same year. Yasemin Allen made her film debut in 2013 alongside Turkish singer zcan Deniz in Su ve Ateş, playing the lead role Yagmur Efe. She then played Defne Sultan in the epic drama Muhteşem Yüzyl. In the same year, she portrayed Sibel in the gang drama series eref Meselesi; the character was shot to death in the series' 21st episode, effectively ending her role. Allen co-stars as Russian agent "Katrina Zarkova" in seasons 7 and 8 of the British action drama series Strike Back.
