Wi Ha-joon (born Wi Hyun-yi (Korean: ; August 5, 1991) is a South Korean actor and model. He is best known for his roles in the films Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum (2018), Shark: The Beginning (2021), and Midnight (2021), as well as the television series Something in the Rain (2018), Romance Is a Bonus Book (2019), 18 Again (2020), and Squid Game (2021), the latter of which launched his career internationally. Wi was named one of GQ Korea's Men of the Year in 2022.

Childhood and education

Wi was born on the island of Soando in South Jeolla Province, South Korea, on August 5, 1991, and grew up on his family's abalone farm. He studied theatre and film at Sungkyul University.

Wi made his acting debut in 2012 with the short film Peace in Them. MSTeam Entertainment manages him as of September 2021. Wi was well-known for his role as Hwang Jun-ho in the South Korean web series Squid Game, which premiered in 2021.
