Toby Wallace (born 6 June 1995) is a British-born Australian actor best known for his performance in Babyteeth (2019), for which he received the Marcello Mastroianni Award at the 2019 Venice Film Festival and the AACTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2020.
Wallace was born in the United Kingdom on June 6, 1995, and lived there until the age of eight. He attended Jells Park Primary School in the Melbourne suburb of Wheelers Hill until Year 6, then transferred to Caulfield Grammar School, where he studied drama and theatre.
Career
Wallace made his feature film debut at the age of 13 in Lucky Country, a 2009 film directed by Australian Kriv Stenders. He was nominated for an Australian Film Institute Award for Best Young Actor for this role.
Wallace appeared in the television film Underbelly Files: The Man Who Got Away in 2012. Wallace appeared as a month-long guest star in the long-running television series Neighbours in 2012.
Wallace portrayed a young Michael Hutchence in INXS: Never Tear Us Apart, a 2014 miniseries about the rock band INXS.
Wallace appeared in the 2018 Australian feature Acute Misfortune, starring Daniel Henshall as the artist Adam Cullen and Wallace as his biographer, as well as the TV miniseries Romper Stomper.
Wallace portrays Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols in Danny Boyle's 2022 TV series Pistol.
