Shruti Seth is a video jockey and actor from India. She began her career as a television host before moving on to comedy parts in many shows and the Hindi cinema business, which helped her become more well-known.
Seth, who was raised and was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, earned an economics degree from St. Xavier's College. She started a modeling career and started anchoring Channel V television programs. Her casting as Jiya Malhotra, a teenage girl, in the comedy series Shararat on Star Plus, marked a pivotal moment in her career. (2003–06). Over time, the show's appeal increased, and Seth's performance rose to prominence.
Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II was Seth's first movie, and she later received accolades for her supporting performances in blockbuster films Fanaa (2006) and Slumdog Millionaire. (2008). Seth starred in The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir, an original comedy on the Disney Channel, and he continued to host programs including the Comedy Circus series.
Personal life
Seth attended Ashok Academy and received a degree in Economics and Commerce from St. Xavier's College in Mumbai. Alina is the name of the daughter she shares with film director Danish Aslam, with whom she is married. Seth is a Hindu who was born in Punjab.
Aslam's criticism of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's #selfiewithdaughter campaign for women and girls, which he introduced in his Mann Ki Baat radio address, sparked a debate when he posted it on Twitter. Following this, she began to experience harassment on Twitter and other social media. As a result, celebrities from Bollywood and the media stood up for her against the harassment.
career positions in television
At the Taj Mahal Hotel in Bombay, Seth began her career as an executive in charge of guest relations. In order to "make some extra money," she started modeling at the same time. She soon had offers for guest appearances in several television programs. Then, on Channel V, Seth hosted the popular programs First Day First Show and Junglee Jukebox. In a subsequent interview, she said that her time working as a video jockey and television host on the network "firmly put me on the map."
Seth went for a casting call for the Star Plus sitcom Shararat, which also starred Eva Grover and Farida Jalal and depicted the lives of a teen who learns she has magical abilities on her eighteenth birthday. Seth was chosen for the major role, and both critics and audience members praised her performance. The program continued for three years on the network and was by itself an unexpected success.
Later, Seth appeared in more television programs on Sony Entertainment Television, such as Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr, Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand, and Rishta.com. She stated in an interview posted on Rishta.com that "They (the Yash Raj serials) haven't garnered any TRPs at all. However, it is not intended for those who watch TV in the first place. The TRP game as a whole is tremendously biased. In a nation of more than a billion people, I don't think 15,000 homes get to pick what the whole nation wants to watch. This Yash Raj collection was designed for people who don't watch TV in mind. In the same interview, she added, "All of our devoted TV viewers for my serial are in London, America, South Africa, and Australia. It's terrible that they are unaware of it because the PR has been underwhelming, not because the Indians won't like it. She has also served as the Sony Channel's Comedy Circus host for multiple seasons.
Seth has acted in a number of movies. I haven't really moved on to anything," she said when asked about switching from television to movies. Not that I would solely work on movies and avoid doing TV. Yes, more opportunities have started coming my way. I'm up for doing something amazing on stage, film, or television. Her most well-known performance was undoubtedly as Fatima "Fatty" alongside Aamir Khan and Kajol in the 2006 film Fanaa. In 2010, she appeared in the Yash Raj Films production Tara Rum Pum and Prakash Jha's Raajneeti. She stated in an interview about her role in Rajneeti that she "hopes that my hard-hitting role in Rajneeti will change my being typecast, because it is the most unlikely character one would expect me to play."
