Rohit Suresh Saraf (born December 8, 1996) is a Hindi film and web series actor from India. He began his career on television and made his film debut in Dear Zindagi as a supporting actor (2016). Following that, he appeared in the Norwegian film What Will People Say (2017), the comedy-drama Hichki (2018), the biopic The Sky Is Pink (2019), the black comedy Ludo (2020), and the thriller Vikram Vedha (2020). (2022). He has been starring in the Netflix romantic comedy series Mismatched since 2020.
Early years
Rohit Saraf was born into an Indian family on December 8, 1996, in Kathmandu, Nepal. When he was five, he returned to Delhi with his family. He was raised in Delhi before moving to Mumbai to pursue his modeling career.
Suresh Saraf, his father, died when Rohit was 12 years old. He finished his primary and secondary education at Saint Francis D'Assisi High School. He then graduated from St. Xavier's College in Mumbai.
Career
Saraf began his career on television with several shows, including Channel V's teen drama Best Friends Forever? He also appeared in the school film "Medium." In the coming-of-age film Dear Zindagi, he made his film debut as the younger brother of Alia Bhatt's character (2016). Saraf then portrayed the lead character's cousin in the Norwegian drama What Will People Say, which was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards.
Saraf appeared in Yash Raj Films' comedy-drama Hichki, starring Rani Mukerji, in 2018. He then appeared in the biographical drama The Sky Is Pink alongside Priyanka Chopra and Zaira Wasim (2019). Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV wrote in his review that Saraf "gives a solid account of himself," and Anna M. M. Vetticad of Firstpost agreed that he "delivers a rock solid performance."
Saraf next appeared in Anurag Basu's Ludo, alongside an ensemble cast. He also co-starred in the Netflix romantic drama Mismatched with Prajakta Koli.
In his Tamil debut, he played a leading role opposite Anandhi in the Tamil romantic drama Kamali From Nadukkaveri. His most recent appearance is in an anthology, Feels Like Ishq, a Netflix original that will be released in July 2021. In the short Star Host, directed by Anand Tiwari, he plays Aditya, a house host.
Saraf made his film debut in Vikram Vedha (2022), playing Hritik Roshan's brother, and will next appear in the romantic comedy Ishq Vishq Rebound.
