Owen William Teague (born December 8, 1998) is an actor from the United States. He was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and is best known for his roles in The Stand, Mrs. Fletcher, Inherit the Viper, To Leslie, Montana Story, Gone in the Night, Bloodline, and the fourth season of Black Mirror episode "Arkangel" (2017). Teague also played Patrick Hockstetter in It and It Chapter Two, as well as supporting roles in the drama Every Day and the thriller I See You.
He was cast as Harold Lauder in the CBS miniseries The Stand in 2020.
Childhood and education
Teague was born in Tampa, Florida, and raised there. His parents were both musicians, and he played the violin until the age of 15. Teague was interested in acting from an early age, performing scenes from Beauty and the Beast with stuffed animals at the age of four and soon after appearing in small theater productions. He was a member of the Macfarlane Park International Baccalaureate Elementary School's Movie Makers Club and the Howard W. Blake High School School of the Arts' thespian club and orchestra.
Teague is best known for his roles in Bloodline (2015) and the fourth season episode "Arkangel" of Black Mirror (2017).
In 2016, he was cast in a supporting role in The Empty Man, a supernatural thriller based on Cullen Bunn's graphic novel. Teague was still in high school when he played Nolan Rayburn in the second season of Bloodline. In 2016, he also appeared in the Stephen King adaptation Cell.
In 2017, he was cast in Mary. Teague's agents included APA, Management 360, Brevard Talent Group, and Myman Greenspan. Teague also appeared in It (2017) and It Chapter Two as Patrick Hockstetter (2019).
In 2017, he was cast in the crime drama Inherit the Viper. He also appeared in Every Day, a romantic comedy based on David Levithan's novel of the same name.
In 2018, he signed with CAA. Also that year, he appeared in the film Heft as Kel Keller, a 17-year-old student dealing with baseball dreams and family drama. In the 2019 HBO series Mrs. Fletcher, he played Julian, a "19-year-old enamored with a 46-year-old divorcee named Eve," and in the thriller I See You, he played Alec (2019).
In August 2020, it was announced that he would play Tommy Stinson in Trouble Boys, a Replacements biopic. In the 2020 CBS miniseries The Stand, he will play Harold Lauder. Teague stated that he had been reading The Stand since he was 13 years old. In The Stand novel, he noted that he attempted to draw directly from Lauder's psychology. He plays Harold Lauder, a sociopathic adolescent who is tempted by evil during a pandemic. According to Consequence of Sound, Teague plays Lauder with "nuanced perfection, capturing the insecurity, pomposity, and rage of one of King's most dynamic characters."
Teague was cast in the lead role in the 20th Century Studios film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, directed by Wes Ball.
