Microsoft Surface Pro 8 and Surface Pro 7+ are coming to India next month, while pre-orders are now live for everyone. The two Surface products were introduced last year. While the Surface Pro 8 arrived as the successor to the Surface Pro 7 with double performance, the Surface Pro 7+ has been available in India since February last year but only to 'enterprise' and 'education' customers.
The Surface Pro 8 is a laptop-to-tablet PC that is Microsoft’s most advanced by far and supports a pen, as well. It is best suited for people who want a portable device that takes all sorts of inputs, thus, giving flexibility. “We are excited to bring the new Surface Pro 8 to India, our most powerful Pro ever. Each new version of Windows unlocks the next generation of hardware innovation,” said Bhaskar Basu, Country Head for Devices (Surface) at Microsoft India.
You can pre-order the Surface Pro 8 starting today from authorized commercial resellers, authorized retail partners, and online shopping websites, Flipkart and Amazon. The starting price for the Surface Pro 8 is Rs 1,04,999, but depending on whether it is a commercial unit or a consumer unit, the price will differ. For commercial customers, there are as many as 13 SKUs, while for regular customers, there are only three SKUs starting at Rs 1,15,999.
Pre-ordering the Surface Pro 8 makes you eligible for a complimentary Surface Pro Signature Keyboard from select partners. If you buy the Surface Pro Signature Keyboard outside the offer period, it will cost you Rs 16,999. Microsoft will also sell the pen separately.
The Surface Pro 8 is Microsoft’s most powerful tablet PC yet. It comes with 11th Gen Intel Core processors up to i7 with Intel’s Evo platform. It has two Thunderbolt 4 ports that support 4K video output and allows high-graphics gaming through external GPUs. It has a 13-inch (2880x1920 pixels) PixelSense touch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5-megapixel camera on the front for video calls, a 10-megapixel camera with 4K video support on the back, and has a battery life of 16 hours, according to Microsoft. The tablet PC also supports Wi-Fi 6 and other connectivity options, including LTE, which you can get as optional. You can get up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage on the Surface Pro 8.
