Lee Hong-gi Wiki, Age, Biography, Height, Girlfriend, Family, Images, And More
Lee Hong-gi (born March 2, 1990) is a South Korean singer, actor, and media personality who goes by the moniker Hongki. He is best known as the lead singer of the rock band F.T. Island. Lee made his solo debut in 2015 with the release of his first Korean extended play FM302 and his first Japanese album, AM302. Lee began his acting career in the children's drama Magic Kid Masuri (2002). Later, he successfully transitioned to adult roles and appeared in a number of television dramas, including You're Beautiful (2009) and A Korean Odyssey (2017). In April 2022, he launched his personal YouTube channel Honggi Jonggi.
Career as an actor
Lee Hong-gi made his debut as a singer with the band F.T. Island before becoming a child actor in 2002 with the KBS2 TV series Magic Kid Masuri as Masuri's friend Kim Ji-hoon. During its run, this children's drama became popular among elementary school students. He also appeared in the EBS children's drama Kkangsooni, where he played Eo Soo-bong and sang for the drama's OST.
He was offered the lead role in Master of Study, a Korean adaptation of the Japanese drama Dragon Zakura, in 2008. Master of Study was supposed to air in early 2009, but due to preproduction issues, the drama was pushed back to early 2010, prompting FNC Entertainment to decline Lee's role due to his busy schedule with the band.
Lee then played Lysander in a Korean musical theatre production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, where he demonstrated his singing, acting, and dancing abilities. After a five-year hiatus, he returned to the screen in 2009, playing the quirky but endearing drummer Jeremy in You're Beautiful. He also contributed solo tracks to the OST to promote the drama, such as "Promise" and "Still/As Ever." For his performance, he received a New Star Award at the 2009 SBS Drama Awards. You're Beautiful received low ratings in South Korea, but it became an international success, increasing Lee's global popularity.
Lee co-starred in the TBS Japanese drama Muscle Girl! with Yui Ichikawa in April 2011. This was followed by Noriko Goes to Seoul, a 90-minute Korean-Japanese co-production in which he played a young aspiring singer who meets an older woman (Takashima Reiko) who inspires him to achieve his dream despite adversity.
In June 2013, he made his big screen debut with Baek Jin-hee in the film Rockin' on Heaven's Door (Korean title: Passionate Goodbye), in which Lee played a rebellious music star who is assigned to work in a hospice.
Lee began shooting Bride of the Century alongside Yang Jin-sung. He was forced to take a four-week break after dislocating his shoulder and suffering facial fractures in December 2013. He resumed filming in January 2014, and the drama premiered in February of that year.
Lee also appeared in Park Min-SBS woo's Modern Farmer, as well as Lee Ha-nui and others. The drama aired on Saturdays and Sundays at 20:40 from October 18, 2014 to December 21, 2014.
Island's musical career F.T.
F.T. Island is the main article.
Lee made his debut as the lead singer in the band F.T. Island in 2007. He can rap and beatbox as well.
Lee decided to pursue a singing career after appearing in Kkangsooni and singing a song for the soundtrack. He performed the song live on stage at the end of the play. He was thirteen years old at the time. A few music agents approached him, impressed by his powerful vocal ability, not wanting to waste his talent for singing. FNC Music, a fledgling label at the time, signed Lee and fully trained him to become the lead singer of F.T. Island.
debut as a solo artist
Lee announced on social media in 2015 that he was working on both a Korean and a Japanese album, which were released in November and December of that year, respectively. FM302 was revealed as the mini Korean album, and it was released on November 18, 2015, while AM302 was revealed as the Japanese album, and it was released on December 9, 2015. 'FM302' combines the radio term frequency modulation (FM) with Lee's birthday, March 2, to create the effect of his own radio frequency, which resonates his music around the world. The title track, "Insensible," is a ballad that tells the sad story of a man who can't forget his previous love. The video was released on November 18, 2015. Park Shin-hye is the lead actress in the music video. A showcase was organised prior to the release of his official music video. When FM302 was released, it topped both Naver's real-time search chart and Hanteo's sales chart. The album maintained its position the following week, selling over 19,000 albums in two weeks. Furthermore, six days after the album's release, Lee won first place on SBS MTV's The Show for the first time. In the third week of November, the album peaked at No. 2 on the Gaon Chart's national physical albums ranking and No. 5 on the Gaon Social Chart.
The music video for the lead single from the Japanese album AM302, " (Monologue)," on the other hand, was released on November 11, 2015 on F.T. Island's Official Japanese YouTube channel. The Japanese album included some songs from the Korean album FM302, but they had been translated into Japanese. The album is also available in three different editions: the original, the Primadonna (for fans), and the limited edition DVD. When it was released, it peaked at #4 on the Oricon charts.
Appearances on the soundtrack
Lee has performed many OSTs for various dramas including You're Beautiful, Heartstrings, and The Heirs.
Dal Shabet's official YouTube channel posted a video titled Joker in Rock Version on May 21, 2015. Lee and Subin collaborated on the video, singing Joker in a rock version. When Lee and Subin met on Hello Counselor, it was assumed that they decided to collaborate.
Lyric writing and composition
Lee has also begun composing music in recent years, contributing the songs "Black Chocolate" and "Orange Sky" to F.T. Island's Japanese album Rated FT, as well as the title track "Memory" and the song "Always With You" on F.T. Island's Korean mini-album Thanks To, "Siren" from their album The Mood, and "Wind" from their album Over 10 Years. In addition, he wrote the Japanese songs "On My Way," "Just Please," and "Born to be a Rock n Roller."
Lee studied theatre and film at Kyunghee University in his personal life.
Lee launched his own fashion label, Skullhong, in June 2014. He creates accessories, jewellery, and nail products. It was founded in Seoul but has since expanded its operations to Hong Kong and Tokyo, Japan.
Lee began his mandatory military service on September 30, 2019, becoming the first F.T. Island member to do so. Lee will be released on April 18, 2021.
