Lim Dong-hyun (Korean: ; born April 11, 1995) is a South Korean actor better known as Lee Do-hyun (Korean: ). He is best known for his roles in the films Hotel del Luna (2019), 18 Again (2020), Sweet Home (2020), Youth of May (2021), and The Glory (2019). (2022-2023).
Childhood and education
Lee Do-hyun was born on April 11, 1995 in Seoul, South Korea. Lee is the eldest son and has an intellectually disabled younger brother, Im Dong-hyuk. Lee received his bachelor's degree in film and theater from Chung-Ang University.
Career
Lee Do-hyun made his acting debut in the 2017 black comedy Prison Playbook, playing a younger version of Jung Kyung-character. ho's
Lee appeared as a member of the high school's rowing club in the romantic television series Still 17 in 2018. He was nominated for "Character of the Year" at the 2018 SBS Drama Awards, alongside Ahn Hyo-seop and Jo Hyun-sik, for his performance. Lee also appeared in Clean with Passion for Now the same year, playing the female lead's younger brother and a promising Taekwondo athlete.
Lee joined the cast of Hotel del Luna, a dark fantasy television series that became one of the highest-rated Korean dramas on cable television in 2019. He also made an appearance on The Great Show on tvN. Lee starred in Scouting Report, the fifth drama of KBS Drama Special's tenth season, for which he received the 33rd KBS Drama Awards' "Best Actor in a One-Act/Special/Short Drama Award."
Lee made his directorial debut in the romantic comedy 18 Again, based on the 2009 American film 17 Again, in 2020. His performance in the drama earned him Best New Actor in Television at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards, as well as Best New Actor at the 7th APAN Star Awards. Later that year, he starred in Netflix's Sweet Home, which was based on the webtoon of the same name. He received positive feedback for portraying a level-headed and cynical character.
Lee appeared in Beyond Evil in 2021 as the younger self of Shin Ha-character. kyun's He also starred in KBS2's Youth of May, a drama set in 1980 during the Gwangju Uprising, which earned him the title of "Next Generation Melo-king" for his outstanding performance in a melodrama. Later that month, in July 2021, Lee was confirmed to star in the tvN drama Melancholia alongside Im Soo-jung, which will air in the second half of 2021. Lee co-hosted the 2021 KBS Drama Awards with Sung Si-kyung and Kim So-hyun at the end of 2021.
Lee appeared in the web series Reincarnation Romance in 2022, a short web series promoting motion sickness pills. This is Go Min-third si's reunion. Lee returned to the small screen in December with The Glory, a Netflix drama written by Kim Eun-sook and starring Song Hye-kyo.
Private life
Service in the military
Lee was reported to enlist in the military for the first half of the year on February 2, 2023. Later, the agency confirmed that no decision had been made and that if the mandatory military service date is received, it will be communicated definitively.
