Kiatkamol Lata Wiki, Age, Biography, Height, Girlfriend, Family, Images, And More
Kiatkamol Lata (Thai: ) (also known as Tui Thai: ) is a Thai singer and actress who was born on May 7, 1983. He rose to prominence after winning Thailand's True Visions Academy Fantasia Season 3, a popular American Idol-style reality competition in Thailand. Because of the show's popularity, fans often called the participants' names followed by the term "AF"; as a result, Kiatkamol became known as "Tui AF" (Thai: AF) or "Tui AF3" (Thai: AF3).
Biography
Kiatkamol Lata was born as an only child in Bangkok, Thailand. He earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Majoring in Finance) from Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon. He worked at Thai Health Promotion Foundation after graduating, where he was part of a team promoting a "anti-drink-drive" campaign - he worked there for three months before auditioning for Academy Fantasia Season 3.
Fantasia at the Academy
Kiatkamol auditioned for Academy Fantasia Season 3 in 2006 and was one of the show's final 12 candidates. His stint on Academy Fantasia was regarded as one of the most successful runs in the history of Thailand's Academy Fantasia, since he was one of three contestants (the others being Jeen AF1 and Good AF5) who never finished in the bottom three out of 72 contestants from Seasons 1-5. Kiatkamol is also regarded as one of Thailand's most successful reality show artists.
Seasonal Surprise
Thailand's Academy Fantasia has always been known for surprising their followers. On Week 6 of Season 3, the presenter, Toi-Settha, announced that Kiatkamol would be leaving the show. Kiatkamol was one of the season's frontrunners, therefore his "elimination" stunned the entire audience. Toi-Settha then disclosed that Kiatkamol was only going to leave the show for a few days because he received the most votes that week. Kiatkamol was awarded with a trip to Hong Kong with his mother, as well as a visit to Hong Kong's leading TV station, TVB, where he participated in a promotional event with Hong Kong actor and singer Ron Ng Cheuk Hei.
A career in music
Following his great stint on Academy Fantasia, Kiatkamol launched his first single "Aok Huk Mai Wa" - a pop dance tune that reached the top of numerous music charts at the time. Kiatkamol's solo album, Tui: A Rock On Earth, was released half a year later, and he returned to his favorite genre, pop rock. Kiatkamol was nominated for and won several artist surveys and awards as a result of this album. Takieng Kub Tawan, the concluding theme song for Kiatkamol's lakorn premiere "Phoo Kong Yod Rak," and Hai Krai Ma Rak Noi, which won Popular Songs of the Year 2007 at Virgin Hitz Award 2007.
Surgery on the Vocal Cords
Kiatkamol was diagnosed with a cyst on his voice cord in 2008, before Jo Jo San AF the Musical began. Kiatkamol claimed that his voice became hoarse following performances and that it never returned to normal. On September 17, 2008, he waited until the run of the play was completed before having it withdrawn, and he was barred from speaking for one month.
Career as an actor
Kiatkamol has acted in numerous productions in addition to singing. His debut TV series, Phoo Kong Yod Rak, in which he collaborated with Diana Chung, earned the KomChadLuek Award#5 for most popular TV series. Following the success of Phoo Kong Yod Rak, Kiatkamol took part in AF's first musical production "Ngern Ngern Ngern," for which he received a positive review from Bangkok Post for his singing, calling his version of Classical love songs alongside his partner in the performance "arresting and transporting."
Kiatkamol's debut appearance on Channel 3 was in "Tueng Rai Kor Rak," in which he appeared with Paul Pattarapol and Namfon Patcharin. He got a lakorn deal with station 3 and began working with the station on more lakorns. In 2008, he co-starred in "Botan Gleeb Sud Tai" with Ploy-Chermarn Boonyasak and had to learn Chinese Opera for the role. Kiatkamol reunited with Namfon Patcharin in Look Sao Kam Nan, a musical lakorn in which he played a new deputy attempting to win the affection of the mayor's tomboy daughter.
Handle Me With Caution
Kiatkamol was picked by producer Jira Maligool to co-star in Kongdej Jaturanrasamee's Handle Me With Care (aka. Kod) in 2008, alongside Kratae - Supaksorn Chaimongkol. Kiatkamol portrayed Kwan, a three-armed guy in search of his life's meaning. Kiatkamol stated in an interview that this was a difficult job for him and that Kongdej had assisted him greatly in understanding the character. As the filming went, he grew accustomed to having two left arms and thought it looked unique. By the end of the shoot, he had been so engaged in the character that when his "extra" arm was removed, he felt something was missing.
Kod did not perform well at the Thai box office and received mixed reviews upon its initial release, but it was a big hit on the film festival circuit, and it was shown at festivals like the Hong Kong International Film Festival 2008, Udine Far East Film Festival 2008, Munich Film Festival 2008, Montreal Fantasia Festival 2008, and the 2008 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival.
"Handle Me With Care" was nominated for Best Foreign Film, The Arri-Zeiss Award, at the 26th Filmfest Munchen 2008 in Germany, as well as Best Picture, in International Competition, at the 2nd Chungmuro International Film Festival 2008 in Korea. It received the Mental Health Media Award 2008 from Thailand's Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health.
Kiatkamol earned positive feedback for his performance in Handle Me With Care, and he was nominated for Best Actor by organizations such as the Thailand National Film Association Awards (Supannahong), the Bangkok Critics Assembly, and others. He then went on to win his first acting award for this film at the 6th Kom Chad Luek Awards for Best Actor.
