Jung Jin-young (born November 18, 1991) is a South Korean singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor better known as Jinyoung. He was a former member and leader of the boy band B1A4. BB Entertainment is his current manager. He's also known for his roles in the television shows Love in the Moonlight (2016) and Police University (2021).
B1A4 career 2011-2018

Jung was discovered on Cyworld after posting a photo of himself on the website. Before joining B1A4, he trained for about two years in singing, composing, and acting.
On April 11, 2011, Jung became the first member of B1A4 to be revealed to the public. On April 23, 2011, the group made their stage debut on MBC's Show! Music Core.
On June 30, 2018, WM Entertainment confirmed that Jung and Baro had left the agency after their contracts expired. Their interactions with the group are still being debated. WM Entertainment announced on November 16 that Jung and Baro will be leaving the agency, with the remaining three members - CNU, Sandeul, and Gongchan - continuing to promote as B1A4.
Career as a sole proprietor
Jung rose to prominence as a composer with B1A4's comeback title track, "Baby I'm Sorry" (2012), for which he was praised by musical professionals.
He made his acting debut in the tvN drama She is Wow in 2013. He made his film debut in Miss Granny the following year. He also composed the film's closing theme.
He received critical acclaim for his performance in Mnet's musical drama Persevere, Goo Hae-ra in 2015. Later that year, he appeared in the romantic comedy drama Warm and Cozy, directed by the Hong sisters.
Jung worked on the songs "In the Same Place" and "When Cherry Blossoms Fade" for Mnet's reality survival show Produce 101 in 2016. It was his first time writing songs for a girl group, and he was praised for his abilities and versatility as a composer. He was named 2016's "No. 1 solo composer." He appeared in KBS's youth historical drama Love in the Moonlight the same year. The drama was a success, and Jung's reputation as an actor grew as a result. Jung reunited with Moonlight co-star Chae Soo-bin in the two-episode drama special If We Were a Season a year later (2017).
Jung was confirmed to star in the upcoming body-swap comedy film The Dude in Me in October 2017. In January 2019, the film was released.
Jung was cast in Netflix's youth romance drama My First First Love in 2018 and the web drama Wind-Bell the following October.
In addition, a book titled "K-pop Makers" about k-pop musicians market-movers was published in 2018. Jung, along with Big Hit Entertainment Pdogg, SM Entertainment London Noise, Mystic Story Postino, CNBLUE Jong Yong-hwa, Urban Zakapa Kwon Soon-il, and Super Freak Records Jinbo, was named one of South Korea's eight hidden gems and hidden producers.
Jung enlisted in the military on June 20, 2019, and will return to the industry on April 9, 2021. His first comeback drama, Police University (2021), was well-received, bringing KBS drama viewership ratings back to a high of 8.5% at its peak and an average of 6.5% in the Mon-Tue 9:30 pm (KST) timeslot after the predecessor had a viewership rate hovering around 1-2%.
Jung launched his YouTube channel and released a teaser video for Everything that inspires me on June 23, 2022, announcing that he would be releasing a series of no copyright music on a regular basis so that people working in the creative works industry could freely use his music. He then released It Was a First Love, the first No Copyright Sound track, on June 25, 2022.
