Jung Hae-in is a South Korean actor who was born on April 1, 1988. He first appeared in AOA Black's music video for "Moya" in 2013, and made his formal debut the following year in the TV series Bride of the Century. He rose to prominence for his lead role in the 2017 television series While You Were Sleeping and his supporting role in Prison Playbook. Jung made his feature film debut in the 2018 drama Something in the Rain, followed by One Spring Night in 2019. Jung rose to prominence after starring in the films D.P. (2021) and Snowdrop (2021–22).


Jung's first acting experience was in a college musical, but his determination to become an actor was established during his military service, when he lost 12 kilograms to achieve his dream. He made his debut at the age of twenty-six.

Jung made her television debut in 2014 with Bride of the Century, and she later appeared in the indie film The Youth. He was cast in the historical series The Three Musketeers the same year. From 2014 to 2016, he appeared in minor roles and made several cameo appearances in various TV shows and films. One of his most memorable roles was as Kim Go-first eun's love in Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.

2017–present: Increased popularity and lead roles

Jung rose to prominence in 2017 with his performance in the fantasy romance series While You Were Sleeping. During his broadcast, he was the most searched term on the Korean portal site Naver. The King's Case Note and Conspiracy: Age of Rebellion, two of his historical films, were released in the same year. He was then cast in the black comedy series Prison Playbook, where he received critical acclaim for his portrayal of an imprisoned Army captain convicted of assaulting a soldier in his unit who died later.

Jung appeared in another historical film, Heung-boo: The Revolutionist, in 2018, playing King Heonjong. In the romance drama Something in the Rain, he co-starred with Son Ye-jin in his first leading role. Jung's popularity in Asia increased following the broadcast of the drama. Later that year, Jung co-starred with Kim Go-eun in the period romance film Tune in for Love.

Jung appeared in the 2019 youth film Start-Up as a school dropout who joins a gang. The same year, he was cast in the romance drama One Spring Night alongside Han Ji-min, directed and written by the same person who directed and wrote Something in the Rain.

Jung co-starred in the 2020 romance drama A Piece of Your Mind with Chae Soo-bin. In the same year, he co-starred with Jisoo in the JTBC drama Snowdrop, which was written and produced by Sky Castle and premiered in December 2021.

Jung appeared as a Military Police soldier tasked with pursuing deserters in the Netflix series D.P. in 2021. The same year, he was cast in the Watcha original short film Unframed, directed and written by Lee Je-hoon.

Jung appeared in the Disney+ drama Connect in 2022. In 2023, he will reprise his role in the second season of D.P.

Private life

Family and academic achievement

Jeong Yak-yong, a great thinker of the late Joseon period, is Jung Hae-third in's great-grandfather. He graduated from Pyeongtaek University's Broadcasting Entertainment Department, where he participated in a variety of activities, including musical plays.

When he was twenty-one years old, he enlisted in the military. After being discharged from the military and graduating from college, he signed a contract with his agency.
