Jang Dong-yoon is a South Korean actor who was born on July 12, 1992. He is best known for his roles as the lead in the popular television series School 2017 (2017), The Tale of Nokdu (2019), and Search for Tomorrow (2019). (2020).
Early years
Jang began his mandatory military service in May 2012, after graduating from high school, and was discharged in February 2014.
Beginnings in Your Career in 2015
Jang's bravery was reported in the media in 2015, while he was a student at Hanyang University. It was reported that he came across a robber wielding a lethal weapon threatening a convenience store clerk in Seoul's Gwanak District and devised a quick plan to apprehend the perpetrator. For his bravery, he received a commendation from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. Because of his popularity, he received numerous casting offers.
2016-2018: Debut as an actor
Jang made her acting debut in the Naver web drama Women at a Game Company in 2016. Later that year, he landed a role in the teen drama Solomon's Perjury.
In 2017, he was cast as a main character in the KBS teen-romance drama School 2017. He appeared in the KBS Drama Special If We Were a Season the same year.
He was cast as the lead in tvN's medical drama A Poem a Day in 2018. The same year, he appeared in the historical drama Mr. Sunshine as a supporting actor. He also made his feature film debut in the indie film Beautiful Days, which premiered at the 23rd Busan International Film Festival and starred as Lee Na-son. young's He starred in the youth drama Just Dance in December, for which he received the Best Actor in a One Act/Special/Short Drama - Excellence Award at the 2018 KBS Drama Awards.
2019–present: Increasing popularity

Jang co-starred in the 2019 historical romantic comedy drama The Tale of Nokdu with actress Kim So-hyun. He gained popularity and recognition for his role as the cross-dressing protagonist. At the 2019 KBS Drama Awards, he received the Excellence Award- Actor in a Miniseries, as well as the Best New Actor award at the 7th APAN Star Awards.
In 2020, he was cast in director Oh Won-indie jae's film Run Boy Run. He also appeared as a military dog handler in Search, South Korea's first military thriller drama set in the demilitarized zone.
Joseon Exorcist, a show starring Jang Dong-yoon, was canceled in 2021 after two episodes were aired during the controversy over historical inaccuracies, such as the incorrect use of Chinese traditional props. Actors began to delete drama-related SNS posts, with Jang Dong-yoon being the first to post his position and apologize. It was later announced in October 2021 that the animated film Tae-il, which features Jang's voice, will be released in December 2021.
Jang returned to the big screen in 2022 with the film Project Wolf Hunting, his second appearance in a year.
Jang donated 6 million won in scholarship money to his father's retirement ceremony on August 30, 2022.
