Himansh Kohli (born 3 November 1989) is a Delhi-based Indian actor. He is best known for his role in the Hindi drama Humse Hai Liife as Raghav Oberoi. Yaariyaan was his Bollywood debut (2014).

Biography

Kohli was born in Delhi to father Vipin Kohli and mother Neeru Kohli. He had been a fan of Rajesh Khanna since childhood, drawing inspiration from him.

From May to July 2011, Kohli worked as a Radio Jockey (RJ) at Radio Mirchi in Delhi. He made his television debut in Humse Hai Liife, a daily soap opera on Channel V. In Humse Hai Liife, he played Raghav Oberoi, the male protagonist. He appeared on the show from September 5, 2011 to June 12, 2012, and left when he was cast in a feature film. He returned to the show in November 2012 to film the final episode.

Director Divya Kumar cast Kohli as one of the lead actors in the Bollywood film Yaariyaan in May 2012, playing the character Lakshya. The film, which premiered on January 10, 2014, was a box office success.

Kohli appeared in four films in 2017: Keshhav Panneriy's drama Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai, the romantic comedy Sweetiee Weds NRI, Ranchi Diaries, and Dil Jo Na Keh Saka.

In his childhood, his parents and teachers used to call him “Hero” that prompted his interest in acting.

He gave his first stage performance when he was in 4th standard, where he played the role of Ramayana’s character “Jatayu.”

To pursue a career in acting, he reached Mumbai, where he struggled for around 4-5 months. But after getting no work, he came back to Delhi to pursue a career in the field of Mass Communication and Journalism. In his very first internship as a Radio Jockey (RJ) was with Radio Mirchi in Delhi.

While pursuing his degree from Amity University, he contested in a talent-hunt competition, after which he earned his first acting opportunity with the TV serial ‘Humse Hai Liife’ (2011-2012).

In the first few years of his acting career, he was criticised for being lean that motivated him to join the gym.

He was 23 years old when he had his first girlfriend.

He is a close friend of Sachin Tendulkar‘s daughter, Sara Tendulkar.

Himansh Kohli considers his fellow “RJ Naved Khan” as his inspiration.

He is an avid animal lover and has many fishes and pet dogs.

In an interview, he revealed that when he was in the 12th standard, one of his friends called his three girlfriends at the same place.

In December 2018, he broke up with his long-time girlfriend Neha Kakkar. Neha shared an emotional post on her Instagram account about her breakup with him.
