Gavin Casalegno (born September 2, 1999) is an American actor and model best known for his role as Jeremiah Fisher in the series The Summer I Turned Pretty (2022), which was adapted from Jenny Han's best-selling trilogy of the same name. Darren Aronofsky's Noah (2014) and The Vampire Diaries are two of his other notable projects (2015).
He is currently in North Carolina filming the second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Gavin Casalegno was born to American parents in Dallas, Texas. He is the eldest of three children, with one younger brother and a younger sister, actress and model Ashlyn Casalegno.
Casalegno went to Lucas' Lovejoy High School.
A friend of Casalegno's mother suggested that he try modeling, which prompted his mother to look into agencies. He landed his first modeling job for JC Penny when he was four years old. In the mid-2000s, he appeared in numerous commercials for Sony and Papa John's. His mother, Allyson Casalegno, was his manager while he traveled for work and auditions because he was a minor. He moved to Los Angeles in search of better opportunities, and by the age of eleven, he had booked his first film project. He then played various roles, including young Shem in Noah in 2014, young Damon Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries on The CW in 2015, and Trevor Strand in Walker's first season in 2021.
Casalegno was cast as Jeremiah Fisher, one of the main characters in the Amazon Prime television series based on Jenny Han's coming-of-age novel The Summer I Turned Pretty, which is set to premiere on June 17, 2022. Season 2 of the series was renewed by Amazon before the first season premiered without a release date. Casalegno will play Jeremiah Fisher, the younger Fisher brother who, along with Conrad, is one of Belly's main love interests.
Gavin's personal life revolves around his Christian faith and his advocacy for mental health. He enjoys playing soccer and volleyball.
From 2015 to 2022, he dated American dancer, model, and actress Larsen Thompson.
