Finn Wolfhard Wiki, Age, Biography, Height, Girlfriend, Family, Images, And More

Finn Micheal Wolfhard (born December 23, 2002) is a Canadian actor and musician best known for his role in the Netflix series Stranger Things as Mike Wheeler (2016–present). He also played Richie Tozier in the horror films It (2017) and It: Chapter Two (2019), as well as the supernatural film Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021).

Wolfhard was the lead vocalist and guitarist for the rock band Calpurnia, and he has been a member of The Aubreys since 2020. Since then, Wolfhard has made his directorial debut with the comedy short film Night Shifts (2020).

Early years

Finn Micheal Wolfhard was born on December 23, 1982, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to parents of French, German, and Jewish ancestry. He went to a Catholic school. Eric Wolfhard, his father, is an aboriginal land claims researcher. His older brother is actor Nick Wolfhard.

Craigslist provided Wolfhard with his first acting job. He made his acting and television debut in 2014 as Zoran in the second season of The 100, a post-apocalyptic science fiction series. The following year, he starred in Supernatural as Jordie Pinsky.

Wolfhard debuted as Mike Wheeler in the Netflix series Stranger Things in 2016. After seeing an open casting call, he submitted a video audition for the role. Wolfhard and his co-stars were nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance in a Drama Series. In a 2017 episode of Spike's Lip Sync Battle, he and co-stars Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, and Caleb McLaughlin competed against one another.

Wolfhard co-directed his first music video with Josh Ovalle in July 2017 for the song "Sonora" by Spendtime Palace. Wolfhard made his feature film debut as Richie Tozier in Stephen King's It, which was released in 2017. Wolfhard's casting in Stranger Things and It, both set in the 1980s, had been purely coincidental. Wolfhard claims that he was originally cast as Richie when Cary Fukunaga was attached as director and co-writer, but when Fukunaga left the project due to creative differences, the role fell through, allowing him to pursue Stranger Things. Wolfhard had to re-audition for the role of Richie after Andy Muschietti was attached to the film. Wolfhard parted ways with his former agency, APA, and fired former agent Tyler Grasham in October 2017 after allegations that Grasham sexually abused aspiring young male actors. Wolfhard had not been harmed in any way. Wolfhard signed with CAA, a talent agency, in January 2018. In Ken Marino's 2018 ensemble comedy Dog Days, he played Tyler, an altruistic and thoughtful pizza delivery boy.

Wolfhard debuted as "Player," the title character's main accomplice and friend, in the Netflix animated series Carmen Sandiego in January 2019. He made his modeling debut in Saint Laurent's Fall/Winter 2019 campaign in May. In the sequel It Chapter Two (2019), he reprised his role as young Richie in flashbacks, and he co-starred in The Goldfinch (2019), the John Crowley-directed adaptation of Donna Tartt's novel, as Young Boris Pavlikovsky, a Ukrainian student and troublemaker. Crowley had not chosen Wolfhard as his first choice because he wanted to cast an authentic Russian actor as Boris, but Wolfhard's near-perfect Russian accent in his audition helped him get the role. In an animated remake of The Addams Family, Wolfhard provided the voice of Pugsley Addams. He was named to Variety's Hollywood Youth Impact Report from 2017 to 2019. The Hollywood Reporter named him one of the top 30 stars under the age of 18 in 2018 and 2019.

Wolfhard co-starred in the anthology film Omniboat: A Fast Boat Fantasia in January 2020, and portrayed Miles in the supernatural horror film The Turning, an adaptation of Henry James' novella The Turn of the Screw (2020). Wolfhard then starred in Jeremy Schaulin-Rules Rioux's for Werewolves (2020), a short film based on playwright and novelist Kirk Lynn's adapted screenplay from his debut novel, which is set to become a feature-length film with Wolfhard attached to star. He provided the voice of Boypunzel, a gender-flipped version of Rapunzel, in two Adult Swim productions: the animated special Smiling Friends and the animated series JJ Villard's Fairy Tales. Wolfhard appeared in the Jason Reitman-directed comedy miniseries Home Movie: The Princess Bride, which raised funds for World Central Kitchen, and in September 2020, he will perform a live reading of The Princess Bride's script as the Grandson at a Democratic Party of Wisconsin charity event.

Wolfhard made his directorial debut at the age of 17 with the comedy short film Night Shifts (2020). The film was released on YouTube the following year. Wolfhard co-starred in Jesse Eisenberg's Audible Original, When You Finish Saving the World (2020). He tells the story of Ziggy Katz, a 15-year-old boy who records audio sessions for a futuristic bot therapist. Eisenberg adapted the audiobook into the comedy-drama film When You Finish Saving the World (2022), starring Julianne Moore and Wolfhard as mother and son. In July 2020, it was announced that Wolfhard and his brother, Nick Wolfhard, would star as twin brothers in the sci-fi animated series NEW-GEN. Wolfhard was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Hollywood and entertainment in 2020.

Wolfhard co-starred in Jason Reitman's Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) with Carrie Coon, playing the son of Coon's single mother. He appeared in A24's fantasy epic The Legend of Ochi, directed by Isaiah Saxon, alongside Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson, and Helena Zengel. He announced in November 2021 that he is working on directing a feature-length film. Wolfhard also appeared in Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, a stop-motion animated musical film (2022).

Music

Calpurnia, a Vancouver-based rock band, disbanded in November 2019. Wolfhard was the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter. A few weeks later, Wolfhard's new band, The Aubreys, featuring Calpurnia drummer Malcolm Craig, was announced to debut on the soundtrack of his film, The Turning (2020). The Aubreys released their first single, "Loved One," on March 10, 2020, and their debut EP, Soda & Pie, on March 13, 2020, via AWAL. On August 17, 2020, their next single, "Smoke Bomb," will be released. "No Offerings," the Aubreys' first collaboration single with Lunar Vacation, was released on January 12, 2021. "Sand in My Bed," their second single of 2021, was released on February 14.

On September 10, 2021, the Aubreys released their single "Karaoke Alone" from their debut studio LP, Karaoke Alone, which was released on November 5, 2021.

Advocacy

Wolfhard has advocated for autistic children and indigenous children.

Wolfhard hosted "Strange 80s," a benefit concert in May 2017 to benefit Sweet Relief, an organization that assists struggling musicians in need of medical care. At the event, he also performed three songs with his former band Calpurnia. He received an award for his work with Sweet Relief at the 2017 Television Industry Advocacy Awards.
