A case of rape has been registered against Bhushan Kumar, the Managing Director of the music company T-SERIES, confirmed the Mumbai Police on Friday. According to the police, a 30-year old women has alleged that se was lured by offering to work in a T-SERIES and raped by Bhushan.
Although no arrest has been made, a probe is currently in progress.
"Case registered u/s 376 IPC against Bhushan Kumar, managing director, T-Series, at DN Nagar Police station on allegations of rape with a 30-year-old woman on the pretext of engaging her for a project at the company. Probe underway, no arrests made till now," a Police source confirmed in a report on ANI.
Kumar has been booked under IPC sections 376 (rape), 420 (cheating), 506 (criminal intimidation).
Back in 2018 when the #MeToo movement against sexual assaults at the workplace had begun in India, similar allegations were made against Kumar. However, it is not clear if the same woman has registered the FIR.
