Cameron Monaghan Wiki, Age, Biography, Height, Girlfriend, Family, Images, And More
Cameron Riley Monaghan (born 1993 or 1994) is a model and actor from the United States. He is best known for his roles as Ian Gallagher on the Showtime comedy-drama series Shameless and as twins Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska on the DC Comics-based TV series Gotham. He also played Cal Kestis in the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order action-adventure game. Monaghan began his career as a child model when he was three, and as a child actor when he was seven.
Monaghan was born in Santa Monica, California, as the only child of Diane Monaghan, a single mother and insurance claims specialist. Soon after his birth, he and his mother moved to Boca Raton, Florida. Monaghan's mother sent his picture to modeling agencies when he was three, recognizing that he was an exceptionally outgoing child. At the age of five, he appeared on the cover of his first catalogue, and at the age of seven, he appeared in his first regional commercial.
He went to Addison Mizner Elementary School and began his acting career by appearing in Little Palm Children's Theatre productions of Stuart Little, Winnie-the-Pooh, and The Pumpkin King (a theatrical adaptation of The Nightmare Before Christmas), as well as as Alex in the small independent film The Wishing Stone, which was filmed in the Lake Worth, Florida area.
Early career
Monaghan rose to national prominence in 2003 as Winthrop Paroo in the ABC television adaptation of The Music Man. Director and executive producer Jeff Bleckner explained the decision to cast the 9-year-old Monaghan, saying, "There are some people who, when captured on film, seem to jump out at you. That was Cameron's experience. He was it from the moment we saw him. We were looking for anyone with that wonderful allure. Cameron possessed it."
Monaghan debuted as Chad, one of Dewey's classmates, on the Fox comedy series Malcolm in the Middle in 2004, earning him the Young Artist Award for Best Young Television Actor in a Recurring Role. He began a recurring role as Palmer Noid on the Nickelodeon situation comedy Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide the following year. Subsequent television guest appearances included Criminal Minds, Numbers, The Mentalist, Monk, Three Rivers, Fringe, The Glades, and Terriers.
Monaghan made the transition to theatrical film roles in 2005, playing Timmy in the independent western Brothers in Arms. The following year, he starred in the fantasy comedy Click as Kevin O'Doyle, the obnoxious next-door neighbor. Following that, he appeared in The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, Dog Gone, Safe Harbor, and Another Harvest Moon, as well as portraying the boy detective Bob Andrews in the Three Investigators film series.
Shameless
Ian Gallagher is the main article.
Monaghan was cast as an ensemble cast member on the Showtime comedy-drama series Shameless in April 2010. Monaghan stars as Ian Gallagher, the gay bipolar teenage son of a large dysfunctional Chicago family, in the series, which premiered in January 2011. The Independent's Sarah Hughes praised Monaghan's performance as "one of the more nuanced depictions of a gay teenager to be seen on US TV." The Boston Globe's Matthew Gilbert called Monaghan's performance "extraordinary." AfterElton.com, a gay-interest media outlet, named Monaghan to its list of "2011's Break-Out TV Actors," citing his portrayal of Ian. Showtime announced in February 2014 that it had renewed the series for a fifth season, which would begin airing in 2015. Monaghan was nominated for a Critic's Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his work in the fifth season. The seventh season premiered in October 2016. The eighth season, which included 12 episodes, began production in May 2017 and premiered on November 5, 2017. The show has been renewed for a ninth season, which will debut on September 9, 2018. Monaghan announced his departure from the series on Instagram after the sixth episode of the ninth season. Cameron, on the other hand, returned for the tenth season, which debuted in late 2019.
From 2011 to the present, Monaghan has appeared in a number of episodic television roles. On the CBS crime series NCIS in 2011, he appeared as Nick Peyton, a teenage boy accused of murdering his Marine father. That same year, he appeared on TNT's Rizzoli & Isles as Jonathan McKenna. On the NBC crime series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2012, he appeared as Eddie Sandow, a 19-year-old who creates a hostage situation after his father is accused of sexual assault.
Monaghan has also appeared in a number of feature films. In 2011, he co-starred in the Disney teen drama Prom as high school sophomore Corey Doyle. In the sports comedy 2nd Serve, he played Jake, the son of an attractive YMCA director. In the independent drama Jamie Marks Is Dead, Monaghan played Adam McCormick, a small-town high school athlete who becomes consumed by the death of one of his classmates. In the fantasy adventure film Vampire Academy the same year, he played Mason Ashford, Rose's best friend and romantic interest. He also played Asher in the dystopian film The Giver.
Monaghan appeared as a recurring guest star in all five seasons of Fox's DC Comics-based television series Gotham from 2015 to 2019. He portrays the antagonistic twin brothers Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska, both of whom serve as origin stories for the well-known Batman villain The Joker.
Cal Kestis, the player character in the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is played by Monaghan.
