Alizeh Shah (born 9 June 2000) is a Pakistani actress who works in Urdu television. In 2016, she made her acting debut in Choti Si Zindagi as Alina, a supporting role. Her role as Palwasha in Ishq Tamasha earned her the Hum Award for Best Television Sensation in 2018. Shah rose to prominence after playing the role of Dua in Ehd-e-Wafa (2019).
Following that, she played the lead roles in several serials, including Hoor Pari (2019), Jo Tu Chahey (2019), Mera Dil Mera Dushman (2020), Tanaa Banaa (2021), and bebasi (2022).
Life and work
Shah made her television debut at the age of six, in a commercial alongside Wasim Akram, and began her professional acting career in 2017. She had a brief appearance in Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya before landing the role of Alina in Hum TV's Choti Si Zindagi. She has since starred in Hoor Pari and Jo Tu Chahey as the female lead. Shah portrayed Tamana in the TV series Daldal and Palwasha in the drama serial Ishq Tamasha, for which she was nominated for the Best Television Sensation Female award at the seventh Hum Awards. She played the character of Dua in the drama series Ehd-e-Wafa. She was most recently seen in ARY Digital's Mera Dil Mera Dushman as Maira.
Criticism
Alizeh debuted as a singer in May 2021 with the Punjabi song Badnamiyan, co-written with singer Sahir Ali Bagga. She received backlash on social media for wearing a tank top in the music video, which violated the country's modest clothing norms. She was chastised again in July 2021 for wearing revealing clothing to the Hum Style Awards.
