In 2006, she made her cinematic debut as a lead in SJ Suryah^/s Tamil film Kalvanin Kadhali, alongside Nayantara, in Hindi film Nishabd, and in Telugu film Godava, alongside Vaibhav Reddy. She is well-known for her roles in Life OK serials such as Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, Tumhari Paakhi, and Dream Girl. She has been playing Dr. Preeta Arora in Zee TV^/s Kundali Bhagya since 2017. In 2019, she competed as a participant on Nach Baliye 9 alongside Alam Makkar.
Arya spent his childhood in New Delhi, India. She graduated with honors from the University of Mumbai with a master^/s degree in economics.
Private life
Arya was engaged to an NRI named Jayant Ratti in 2015, but the couple broke off their engagement due to compatibility concerns. She revealed her romance with Alam Singh Makkar in 2019 when the duo decided to compete in the dancing reality show Nach Baliye. The pair split up soon after the show ended.
Arya married Indian Navy Officer Rahul Nagal in an intimate ceremony in her hometown of New Delhi on November 16, 2021.
Career
Arya began her career as the first runner-up on Zee TV^/s talent competition India^/s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj.
She made her acting debut in the Tamil film Kalvanin Kadhali in 2006, opposite actor-director S. J. Surya. She then made her Bollywood debut in Ram Gopal Varma^/s Nishabd. She also acted in Paathshaala, a film starring Shahid Kapoor. She also worked in Telugu films, including Godava, in which she starred alongside Vaibhav Reddy, Kothi Muka, and Romeo. She also appeared in the Tamil film Kalvanin Kadhali. She has also appeared in two Kannada films and one Malayalam film. Arya made her television debut in the Indian serial opera Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki in 2011. Her breakthrough performance was as Paakhi in Life OK^/s Tumhari Pakhi. She got to stardom after playing Ayesha in Dream Girl - Ek Ladki Deewani Si.
She received numerous prizes for her roles in Dream Girl and Tumhari Paakhi, including an Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Negative Role for Dream Girl, the Zee Gold prizes^/ Best Jodi Award, Life OK^/s Hero of the Month Award, and the Women Achievers Award in 2016.
In 2016, Arya hosted Mazaak Mazaak Mein, a comedy show created by Ekta and Shobha Kapoor.
She is now starring in Kundali Bhagya, a Kumkum Bhagya spinoff on Zee TV. She portrays physiotherapist Dr. Preeta Luthra. Her performance earned her numerous prizes and nominations, including the Kalakar Award for Best Actress and the Gold Award for Best Actress Popular. Arya has also won the Zee Rishtey Awards for Favourite Popular Character Female two years in a row.
