Xu Lu (Chinese:, born December 28, 1994) is a Chinese actress and singer better known as Lulu Xu. She rose to prominence in China for her role in the drama Empresses in the Palace (2012), and internationally for her roles in the dramas One and a Half Summer (2014) and Love Scenery (2015). (2021).
Xu Lu began her education at a military school when she was 10 years old, which led her to the People's Liberation Army Academy of Art, where she majored in acting. She made her acting debut in The Dream of Red Mansions as the adolescent Xue Baoqin. Her big break came with Empresses in the Palace. Despite the fact that her character Zhen Yurao only appeared in the later part of the drama, she grabbed fans with her fresh naive beauty and romance plotline with Aisin-Gioro Yunxi.
She rose to prominence after co-starring in the college romance drama One and a Half Summer with Nichkhun and Jiang Jinfu. Xu Lu appeared in the first season of We Are In Love, a licensed replica of the iconic South Korean variety show We Got Married, in 2015, where her virtual marriage with Qiao Renliang acquired tremendous popularity until Qiao's death in September 2016.
Her 2017 projects included director Guan Hu's adaptation of the Ghost Blows Out the Light novel series, The Weasel Grave; the big budget fantasy Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy; and the youth musical film Our Shining Days, for which she received an award at the Shanghai International Film Festival.
Spy Hunter, a period piece directed by the famed director-writer pair Li Lu (In the Name of People) and Zhang Yong, is one of her works in 2019. (The Disguiser). She has joined the list of actresses who have played Yang Guifei, a prominent historical character and one of ancient China's Four Beauties, for the historical series The Longest Day in Chang'an.
