Song Qian (born February 2, 1987), professionally known as Victoria or Victoria Song, is a Chinese singer, dancer, actress, model, host, and author best known as the leader of the South Korean girl group f.(x).
Song rose to prominence in 2010 as a cast member of KBS's Invincible Youth and We Got Married Season 2. She has also appeared in the television series When Love Walked In (2012), Beautiful Secret (2015), Ice Fantasy (2016), A Life Time Love (2017), Moonshine and Valentine (2018), and Find Yourself (2020), as well as the films My New Sassy Girl (2016), My Best Friend's Wedding (2016), and Wished (2016). Song was 74th on Forbes China Celebrity 100 in 2017, 41st in 2019, and 14th in 2020.
Life and work
1987–2011: Beginnings in life and in a career

Song Qian was born in the Shandong province of Qingdao. She left her hometown at a young age to attend the Beijing Dance Academy and study Chinese traditional dance. She was accepted to the Beijing Dance Academy after graduating from high school and majored in Chinese ethnic dance. Song was scouted by an SM Entertainment casting agent in September 2007 while competing in a dance competition in Beijing, and she was eventually cast into SM Entertainment after passing the audition under the SM Casting System. She was initially trained in South Korea to prepare for her acting and modeling careers. Song was introduced to the public prior to her debut through various appearances in music videos and commercials; her first appearance was in an early 2008 Spris commercial with Lee Joon-gi. In September 2009, she made her official debut as a member of f(x).
In June 2010, Song joined the cast of the variety show Invincible Youth's first season as a member of G7, a group of seven female idols from various groups. She was also cast in Nichkhun of 2PM's reality show We Got Married. In the variety show, the couple was known as Khuntoria. As a result of the show's success, Nichkhun and Song became household names in the entertainment industry. Song won the 'Popularity Award' at the MBC Entertainment Awards at the end of the year for her role in We Got Married.

Song was cast as the lead in the Chinese-Taiwanese co-production When Love Walked In in January 2012, alongside labelmate Zhou Mi and Fahrenheit's Calvin Chen. In terms of viewership ratings, the drama ranked first. Her performance earned her the title of 'Best New Actress' at the China TV Drama Awards. Song published Victoria's Hong-Ma, a photo-essay book about her travels in Hong Kong and Macao, in December 2012. The book was later translated into Chinese and published in 2013.
In 2013, she co-hosted the KBS show Glitter with actress Kim So-eun.
Song and Zhou Mi were chosen to co-host the Korean-Chinese variety show Strongest Group in 2014. She also appeared in his solo album single "Loving You." Song then appeared as the lead female character in Zhang Liyin's music videos "Agape" and "Not Alone," alongside former EXO member Tao.
It was also revealed in 2015 that Song would collaborate with Chinese manager Jia Shikai on her local activities. Song starred in Hunan TV's music romance drama Beautiful Secret after establishing her studio. For the drama's soundtrack, she released a solo single titled "Star Tears."
The drama eventually went on to have the highest average viewership ratings in China for the first half of 2016.
Song co-starred in My New Sassy Girl with Cha Tae-hyun in 2016. The film, a remake of My Sassy Girl (2001), was released in both South Korea and China at the same time. She then starred in the Chinese remake of My Best Friend's Wedding, reprising her role as Kimberly Wallace from the original. The same year, Song starred in Ice Fantasy, an epic fantasy drama based on Guo Jingming's novel of the same name. She performed an OST for Ice Fantasy titled "Li Luo," which is also the name of her character in the drama. Song was then cast alongside Rain in Anni Baobei's modern romance drama Endless August.
Song co-hosted the variety show Ace vs Ace from January to April of 2017. She also became a regular cast member on Zhejiang TV's Beat The Champions, which premiered in April. In June, she co-starred with Huang Xiaoming in the fantasy romance drama A Life Time Love, based on Tong Hua's novel Once Promised. In July, she co-starred in Dayyan Eng's fantasy comedy film Wished, which received positive reviews and had the highest audience scores across the top four ticketing platforms for local Chinese comedies released that summer. She joined the cast of Hunan TV's female-centric reality show Up Idol in August. 2018-present: Solo debut, acting debut, and debut album
Song appeared in The Chronicles of Town Called Jian, a mystery period drama produced by Li Shaohong and based on the "Tarot Goddess Sleuths" series, in January 2018. The drama previously wrapped production in 2014.
She released her debut solo single "Roof on Fire" and music video on March 13, 2018. She has also served as a mentor on the dance-oriented variety show Hot Blood Dance Crew and the talent scouting program The Next Top Bang.
Song co-starred in the fantasy romance drama Moonshine and Valentine with Huang Jingyu in May 2018. The series received positive reviews, and Song's acting performance was praised. In October, she starred in Legend of the Ancient Sword, a fantasy adventure film based on the video game Gu Jian Qi Tan 2. The same year, she was cast as an intelligent and beautiful scientist in the modern romance drama Broker alongside Luo Yunxi.
Song announced on September 5, 2019, that her contract with SM Entertainment had expired and that she would be leaving the company. On the same day, SM Entertainment announced that Song had not yet left the company, but that the two were exploring new opportunities to collaborate.
Song appeared in the 2019 modern romance drama Love Under the Moon, where she sang the opening theme song "Practice To Be Friends."
Song appeared in the romantic comedy drama Find Yourself in 2020. The drama was a huge success, and Song gained even more recognition for her role as a working woman who is new to love.
Victoria released her self-titled solo album digitally on May 19, 2020, after it had been delayed since 2017. The album includes the previously released single "Roof on Fire" (2018) as well as three English-language tracks. The lead single, "Up To Me," and its music video were also released on the same day. Victoria Song became the fastest Chinese female artist to achieve diamond certification on QQ Music in 2020 after selling over 250,000 copies in the first 22 hours of pre-sale. The album debuted at number one on QQ Music after selling over 300,000 copies in the first few weeks. She also released music videos for "" and " (Functional Control)" in the following weeks.
Victoria took part in the 2020 edition of Chuang 2020, the Chinese version of "Produce 101," as an MC and mentor in the summer of 2020. She also made an appearance on the show.
Victoria's female-centric drama Love Yourself will be released both in China and internationally in August 2020. She plays a television reporter who is confused about love.
Song's endorsement contract with the clothing manufacturer H&M was terminated in 2021 after the company criticized China for human rights violations against Uyghurs in the Xinjiang region of China, where cotton for clothing products is grown. SM Entertainment announced in April 2021 that their contract with Victoria had expired.
In 2022, Victoria starred in Beloved Life as Du Di, a resident Ob-gyn.
Victoria played Han Lu in the film Post Truth in 2023. She had been on a promotional tour of China for the film.
Philanthropy During the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, Song and Super Junior-M took part in a campaign for Chinese athletes. In 2010, she and other members of f(x) were named ambassadors for a blood donation campaign in honor of "World Blood Donor Day." The following year, she spoke at a press conference to raise awareness for a fundraising campaign for African children organized by the Red Cross and UNICEF.
She and Kangta also attended a cultural charity event in China in November 2012, where they taught music and dance to children in need. The event was organized by SM Entertainment and CJ E&M to commemorate 20 years of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea.
Song opened a flea market near the end of 2014, where she sold personal items for charity. On December 31, she donated the entire proceeds to UNICEF. She and the other Beautiful Secret cast members launched "Beautiful Childhood Secret" in April 2015 to raise awareness for children with hearing disabilities. Members and crew members ordered personalized picture books for the disabled children. Song also auctioned off a handmade doll named "Song Song" on the UNICEF charity auction site the same month, and she participated in UNICEF's "Help Nepal Children" charity bracelet project in June.
