On Tripadvisor's Best of the Best Restaurants for 2022 list, which was published on September 27 and included some of the world's top eateries, two San Francisco restaurants received high rankings.
Based on evaluations and ratings from actual travellers who dined at these establishments during recreational or work-related travels throughout the previous year, the award programme identifies the top restaurants.
These internationally acclaimed eateries covered 51 nations and six continents. The list also includes six additional sections, including Picture-Perfect Restaurants, Date Night, Quick Bites, Everyday Eats, and Hidden Gems.
Kokkari Estiatorio, a popular Greek restaurant in San Francisco that has received Michelin recognition, is ranked No. 14 in the Fine Dining category, behind other highly regarded American eateries like Hawaii's Lahaina Grill, which won the top spot.
The chief chef at Kokkari, Erik Cosselmon, stated on the restaurant's website, "The goal at Kokkari and Evvia is to deliver as near to an authentic Greek restaurant experience as possible. It's not just about the cuisine; it's also about the people, the festive mood, and the hospitality of the Greeks.
San Francisco's Mersea Restaurant, included in Tripadvisor's newest category, Hidden Gems, comes in at No. 2 on the list as a local favourite with stunning views of the bay and its "excellent seafood-centric menu."
Executive chef and restaurateur Parke Ulrich and co-founder MeeSun Boice are in charge of Mersea. In the centre of Treasure Island, the beachside restaurant debuted in 2018.
