Todrick Hall was sued by the owners of the Sherman Oaks, California, home he was renting, and the owners won, ordering him to pay $100K in back rent.
According to TMZ, the 36-year-old YouTuber has a leasing agreement with owners Avi and Orna Lavian to pay $30,000 per month for the five-bedroom, eight-bathroom home.
When offering a tour of the house to fans on his YouTube channel and referring to it as his "dream home," Hall had even given the impression that he owned the place.
According to the story, he has now been sentenced to pay $100,000 in damages along with an additional $2K in attorney fees and costs.
When he was utilised for an initial payment of $60K, news of the dispute was first made public, according to Us Weekly, in March of this year.
In court documents, the landlords claimed that they gave Hall a pay-or-quit notice on March 3 through a different resident of the property. According to the site, on March 29 the landlords filed a civil case with the court.
In their initial lawsuit, the landlords requested a forfeiture of the rental agreement, attorney fees, $1,000 per day in damages, and "any other relief the court deems just and equitable," in addition to $60,000 in rent for the months of February and March 2022.
In a video titled "Bought My DREAM Home!!! FULL TOUR" that Hall uploaded to YouTube in February 2021, he discussed his love for the house.
In the video, which has received more than 505,000 views, the Plainview, Texas resident stated, "I have been wanting to buy a home for a very long time and this is a dream come true." I looked at more than 50 houses before choosing this one. I was in love the moment I saw this one.
He flaunted the home's facilities in the video, including a pool, walk-in closet, and movie theatre.
In the most recent season of Celebrity Big Brother, Hall made an appearance. He placed second despite conflict with several of his reality show co-stars. Following the show, he postponed interviews with the media, which he later said on Instagram was done for self-preservation.
In a post on March 12, Hall said, "I haven't avoided the press because I'm afraid to comment on my experience on Big Brother; rather, I've done so to protect myself and my mental health in order to make sure I could actually get my show on stage and fulfil my obligations to my fans and my PAID employees."
I don't want to win over people who were never behind me to begin with, he continued, but I do want to let my followers know that I will be sharing my experience once the show starts because I think they deserve it.
