Indian actress and dancer Surveen Chawla (born 1 August 1984) performs in Hindi movies and on television. With television programs like Kahin to Hoga and Kajjal, she began her career. She is well known for her work in a variety of films and television series, including Hate Story 2 (2014), Ugly (2013), Parched (2015), and 24 (2016). She appeared in the 2018 season of the Hindi web series Haq Se.
Career
Chawla made her television debut in the Indian series Kahin To Hoga as Charu. In 2008, she also participated in the reality dance competition Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena, teaming up with Indian cricketer S. Sreesanth. She first made her appearance in the 2004 television series Kasautii Zindagi Kay. From 2006 to 2007, she portrayed the main character in the television series Kaajjal. She served as the host of the TV program Comedy Circus Ke SuperStars. Her first movie was the Kannada flick Paramesha Panwala. She made an appearance in the Punjabi movie Dharti in 2011, which was released in April. In the years that followed, she made appearances in the Punjabi movies Taur Mittran Di, Saadi Love Story, Singh vs Kaur, Lucky Di Unlucky Story, and Disco Singh. (2014). She performed "Dhoka Dhoka," her debut item song, in Sajid Khan's Himmatwala. She made two appearances in the 2013 Tamil film Puthiya Thiruppangal in addition to Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal. She then had a cameo in the thriller Ugly by Anurag Kashyap.
2014–2017
Alongside Jazzy B, Chawla made an appearance in the popular Punjabi song "Mitran De Boot" in October 2014. She also appeared in Vishal Pandya's erotic revenge thriller Hate Story 2, a follow-up to Hate Story (2012), as Sonika Prasad, a young woman who seeks retribution from those who have physically and psychologically abused her and killed her boyfriend Akshay Bedi (played by Jay Bhanushali). This was her first women-centric movie, which was well received both critically and commercially. Later, she made an appearance in the Creature 3D song "Sawan Aaya Hai" alongside Rajneesh Duggal. Her most recent Tamil movie is Jaihind 2. She starred alongside Jimmy Shergill in the songs "Tuti Bole Wedding Di" from the Hindi film Welcome Back and "Hero Naam Yaad Rakhi." She additionally portrayed Bijli in Parched. (2015). Surveen debuted and took part in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2016, but she and Arjun Bijlani were later eliminated in a double elimination.
2018–present
Chawla made her digital debut in 2018 alongside Rajeev Khandelwal in the web series Haq Se from ALT Balaji. The plot centers on the Mirza sisters and is set in the tumultuous, terrorist-infested region of Kashmir. In the series, Surveen portrays Mehr Mirza, the eldest of the four sisters.
Personal life
In 2015, Chawla wed Akshay Thakker in Italy. On December 27, 2017, she confirmed via Twitter that she had married two years earlier.
