Sukirti Kandpal is an Indian model and actress who has appeared on Hindi television. In 2007, she made her acting debut in Sab TV's youth show Jersey No 10. Kandpal rose to prominence after playing Dr. Riddhima Gupta in Dill Mill Gayye (2008-2009) and Piya Dobriyal in the romance thriller Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani. (2010-11). In 2014, she appeared on Colors TV's reality show Bigg Boss 8.
She also played Simran Khanna in Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai... Ajab Sa Risk Hai (2013-14) and Debjani Thakur in Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls. (2015). She was most recently seen in Story 9 Months Ki as businesswoman Alia Shroff. (2020–2021).
Life and learning
Kandpal was born in Nainital, Uttarakhand, to B.D. Kandpal and Manju Kandpal (former President of the Uttarakhand Bar Association and Deputy Advocate General of the Uttarakhand High Court). She has two siblings: a younger brother, Manjul Kandpal, and an older sister, Bhavna Kandpal. She attended Nainital's St. Mary's Convent High School.
Kandpal wanted to be a lawyer because her father was a public prosecutor. Sophia College for Women in Mumbai awarded her an honours degree in Economics. During her early career, she dated Manavendra Singh Shekhawat, but they split up.
Career 2007–2009: Dill Mill Gayye and the beginning of a career
Kandpal debuted on Sab TV in 2007 with Jersey No. 10, an Indian adaption of the American series One Tree Hill. A Cinevistaas Limited creative director observed her in a coffee shop and invited her to meet him later for an audition. In the same year, she participated in several episodes of the Star One horror thriller television anthology series Ssshhhh...Phir Koi Hai.
She took over Shilpa Anand's role as Dr. Riddhima Gupta in the medical romantic comedy show Dill Mill Gayye in 2008. She was there for eleven months until leaving in 2009.
In 2009, she participated in the official music video for Kailash Kher's song "Teri Yaad Mein" from the album Chaandan Mein.

She played Siddheshwari Singh in Agle Janam in 2010. Hello, Mohe Bitiya. In June 2010, she appeared in the reality show Meethi Choori No 1 on Imagine TV. Later that year, in October 2010, she appeared as both Piya Dobriyal and Princess Maithili in Balaji Telefilms' supernatural romance Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani. The show was India's first youth-focused supernatural series, inspired by The Vampire Diaries and The Twilight Saga. The show, which aired its final episode on December 15, 2011, established her fame and acclaim. In the same year, she appeared on another Imagine TV reality show, Nachle Ve, alongside Saroj Khan.
Kandpal took a sabbatical from acting before returning in 2012 as NRI Jazz in Rab Se Sona Ishq. She featured as four characters with the same face in Life OK's series Mystery of clones as a part of Hum Ne Li Hai...Shapath and later returned for another episode as a member of a group of criminals who escape from jail to exact revenge on the Shapath team. She co-hosted a special episode of the crime-based television series Gumrah: End of Innocence on Channel V about girl harassment, and later appeared as a college girl in an episode about the consequences of an open relationship.
She was the lead in Kaisa Ye Ishq Hai..ajab sa danger hai on Life OK in 2013. She appeared on the reality show Bigg Boss 8 in 2014, where she lasted two weeks before being evicted on day 14.
In 2015, she portrayed Debjani Thakur, a journalist, in &TV's Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls, a TV version of Anuja Chauhan's novel Those Pricey Thakur Gurls.
2016–present: Kaala Teeka's continued success with Story 9 Months Ki
Kandpal starred as a lead in the episode "Grahan" of &TV's horror fiction drama Darr Sabko Lagta Hai in early 2016. She then portrayed Rajjo, a Haryanvi girl, in Zee TV's Tashan-E-Ishq.
She was a celebrity host for the travel-themed web series Desi Explorers, and she also appeared in two Desi Explorers subseries: Desi Explorers Jordan and Desi Explorers Taiwan. In 2017, she returned to a fictitious TV series as Naina Yug Choudhary in season 2 of Zee TV's Kaala Teeka. She then opted to take time off to spend with her family. After a two-year sabbatical, she returned in July 2019 as Saundarya in a five-episode special criminal thriller named "Chausar" as part of the Savdhaan India special crime series on Star Bharat.
In November 2020, she made a reappearance as the protagonist role of Alia Shroff, a successful entrepreneur, in Sony TV's Story 9 Months Ki. Story 9 Months Ki is the first show on Indian television to examine the journey of a successful single woman towards motherhood on her own terms through in vitro fertilisation. Urban Asian named the concert one of the most groundbreaking shows of the year 2021. The Times of India named her character Alia Shroff one of the "strong female characters on Indian television and web series."
Kandpal has modelled for PC Chandra Jewellers' Goldlite line, Hyundai's 4S Fluidic Verna The World Sedan, Dove shampoo, Shahnaz Husain's Fair One Cream, and Margo Neem Face cleanser.
Other assignments
In 2016, she was involved in the Nainital police department's "Sarvodaya Women Empowerment" initiative in her home state of Uttarakhand. In 2020, she was connected with "Main Darpok Hoon," a Hamdard India awareness campaign aimed at encouraging people to stay indoors and take preventive steps during the COVID-19 epidemic. She was awarded the MEGA Achievers Award by the Make Earth Green Again (MEGA) foundation in 2021 for her work in animal welfare.

MensXP.com, an Indian lifestyle website for men, named her one of the "35 Hottest Actresses In Indian Television," and she was also named one of the most coveted actresses in Indian television among teens in the 2000s. MissMalini.com named her one of the "28 Sexiest Hindi Television Actresses" in 2016.
In 2015, Sabras Radio named her as the 20th most popular television personality for her show Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls. She has appeared in all six editions of the annual Telly Calendar, which features popular Indian television actresses and is produced by Marinating Films and Balaji Telefilms. In 2013, she was awarded the Aadhi Aabadi Women Achievers Award for her exceptional efforts in her area. For her work in Story 9 Months Ki, she was named one of the Top 50 Women of Indian Television in 2021 by the South Asian entertainment website Urban Asian.
Pageants for beauty
Kandpal represented India (as Miss India Worldwide India) in the 2011 Miss India Worldwide competition in Dubai, where she won the title Miss Bollywood Diva and was one of the top ten candidates from over 30 nations. In 2016, she judged the Mrs. India Dubai International Beauty Pageant alongside Dia Mirza, and in 2017, she judged Mr. and Miss Delhi India alongside Aditi Govitrikar and Shahnaz Hussain.
