Shivangi Joshi (born 18 May 1998) is an Indian television actress who predominantly works in Hindi. In 2013, she made her acting debut as Trisha in Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi. Joshi is well known for her depiction of Naira Singhania Goenka and Sirat Shekhawat Goenka in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, for which she won multiple honors, including two Gold honors.
Joshi has also played Aayat Haider in Beintehaa, Poonam Thakur in Begusarai, and Anandi Chaturvedi in Balika Vadhu 2. In 2022, she competed in Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 and ended 12th.
Joshi was born on May 18, 1998, in Pune, Maharashtra. She attended school in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
Career
Joshi made her television debut in 2013 with Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi on Zee TV. She then went on to play Aayat Haider in Beintehaa. She played Vishy in Love by Chance in 2014. She later played Poonam Thakur alongside Vishal Aditya Singh in Begusarai.
She debuted in 2016 as Meera in Season 4 of Yeh Hai Aashiqui and later as Jyoti in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. She began as Naira Singhania Goenka in Star Plus's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai the same year. Her character was killed off in January 2021, although Joshi remained on the show as a look-alike character, Sirat Shekhawat Goenka. Joshi was murdered off the show in October 2021, as was this second character.
She was set to make her Cannes Film Festival debut in 2020 with the film Our Own Sky, but due to the coronavirus, the film was later released on the OTT platform.
It was revealed in November 2021 that she would play Anandi Bhujaariya in Colors TV's Balika Vadhu 2.
She has also appeared in music videos for Mohsin Khan's Aadatein, Baarish, and Teri Ada, Kismat Teri, Aashiqui, O Dilbar Yaara, and Humnava with Stebin Ben.
She finished 12th in the stunt-based reality TV show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 in 2022, which was recorded in Cape Town.
In the media, she placed fifth in the UK-based newspaper Eastern Eye's List of the 50 Sexiest Asian Women in 2018, and seventh in 2019. She was also named to Eastern Eye's 2022 Top 30 Under 30 Global Asian Stars List.
She was placed seventh in the Times of India's list of the 20 Most Desirable Women on Indian Television in 2019 and ninth in 2020.
