Jennifer Walters has called out Marvel trolls in the latest episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law by reminding them whose show they're spending each week watching.
As is the case with most Disney+ original series, She-Hulk's eighth episode, "Ribbit and Rip It," started with a recap, reminding viewers what had previously happened on the show. However, instead of the usual "Previously on She-Hulk" voiceover, Tatiana Maslany's Jennifer Walters kicked off Episode 8 by stating, "Previously on my show." The recap then addressed everything trolls have criticized the series for from focusing on twerking instead of hulking to obsessing over Daredevil's absence in each new episode to complaining how She-Hulk was not acting comics-accurate. She-Hulk had previously responded to the show's more vocal critics in its reimagining of the Intelligencia, reinventing the supervillain team as a message board dominated exclusively by toxic and sexist trolls who hate She-Hulk.
Following the recap, She-Hulk launched into its episode by finally giving fans what they have been waiting for: Charlie Cox's return as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. After Marvel trolled fans eager for The Man Without Fear's appearance, the superhero is finally back on screens after a lengthy absence. While some fans feared She-Hulk would make Daredevil too comedic, series creator and lead writer Jessica Gao reassured fans that the show respected the core of Cox's portrayal while showing a "lighter side" to the character, something that was apparent in the latest episode.
While fans highly anticipated Daredevil's inclusion in the episode, he was not the only superhero featured in the latest episode of the Disney+ series. Eugene Patilio/Leap-Frog, played by Brandon Stanley, made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the episode as the son of a rich GLK&H client who tries to be a frog-themed hero. The character is the latest D-list Marvel Comics character to enter the MCU in She-Hulk following David Pasquesi's Mr. Immortal, Nathan Hurd's Man-Bull and Joseph Castillo-Midyett's El Águila.
Following his She-Hulk appearance, Cox will return as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Echo before headlining his own Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, which will reunite him with his Daredevil co-star Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. However, despite getting his flirt on with She-Hulk throughout the episode, Cox has revealed that the Jade Giantess will not be returning the favor by making a one-off cameo in his upcoming series. "I don't think so. No, no -- I think [Daredevil: Born Again] is in its own moment," he said at D23 Expo 2022.
The first eight episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are now streaming on Disney+, with the season finale set to release on Oct. 13.
