Sakshi Tanwar is a television host and actress from India.
Early years
Tanwar was born in 1972 or 1973 in Alwar, Rajasthan, India, to Rajendra Singh Tanwar, a retired CBI official, and a middle-class Rajput family. Before graduating from Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi, she attended several Kendriya Vidyalayas. Prior to this, she worked as a sales trainee at a five-star hotel in 1990, after finishing her pre-university course. She was the secretary and president of the dramatic society in college. She auditioned for the national broadcaster Doordarshan's film songs-based show Albela Sur Mela in 1998, while studying for the entrance exams for administrative services and mass communications. She was chosen as the presenter.
Career
Tanwar rose to prominence in the serial series Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii after making her television debut in 1998 with Albela Sur Mela. Between 2011 and 2014, she played Priya Kapoor in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, opposite Ram Kapoor. She made her third appearance on the reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati in December 2012.
Tanwar plays Daya Kaur in the 2016 film Dangal, the wife of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat (played by Aamir Khan), who trains his children to be world-class wrestlers against all odds. Sakshi Tanwar made a television comeback with Tyohaar Ki Thaali, which premiered on Epic Channel in February 2018.

Sakshi became a single mother in 2018 when she adopted a nine-month-old baby girl named Dityaa Tanwar.
