Pallavi stated in an interview that she had always wanted to do something that involved dancing despite the fact that she was not a trained dancer. She became well-known as a dancer after participating in several cultural events at school. While studying in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 2014, Alphonse Puthren offered her the role of Malar in his film Premam. She completed the film during the holidays and then returned to her studies. That same year, she won several "Best Female Debut" awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
She took a month off from school in late 2015 to film her second film, Kali, which was released in March 2016. She was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Malayalam for her performance as Anjali, a young wife who must deal with her husband's extreme anger issues.

In 2019, she co-starred with Fahadh Faasil in the psychological thriller Athiran as an autistic girl.

She was named one of India's 30 under 30 by Forbes magazine in 2020. She was the only member of the film industry on the list. And she is currently in talks with Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar's direction, Allu Aravind's Geetha Arts production presents Ramayana to play Goddess Sita, starring Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor, which will give her her Bollywood debut.
In the news

In June 2022 in an interview with GreatAndhra, she commented that the film The Kashmir Files portrayed the killings of Kashmiri Pandits, during the 1990 exodus, and further asked if that is a religious conflict then what should be the difference between itself and cow vigilantism, referring to a recent incident where a Muslim was driving cows was beaten up and later forced to chant "Jai Shri Ram". The interview quickly went viral and drew criticism online. She later issued a clarification statement on her Instagram handle, saying that her statements in the interview had been misconstrued and that she would never trivialise a tragedy or accept mob lynchings.
