Pallavi made her acting debut in the 2015 Malayalam film Premam, which was the second highest-grossing Malayalam film at the time and earned her critical acclaim. She has since made a name for herself in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam films such as Kali (2016), Fidaa (2017), Middle Class Abbayi (2017), Maari 2 (2018), Love Story (2021), Shyam Singha Roy (2021), and Gargi (2022).

Despite having completed her medical studies in 2016 at the Tbilisi State Medical University, which is accredited by the Medical Council of India, she has yet to register as a medical practitioner in India. She took her Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) in Trichy on August 31, 2020. Pallavi speaks Tamil, English, Hindi, and Georgian fluently. She later learned Malayalam and Telugu after working in their respective film industries.
Dance profession
Pallavi stated in an interview that she had always wanted to do something that involved dancing despite the fact that she was not a trained dancer. She became well-known as a dancer after participating in several cultural events at school. Due to her mother's encouragement, she competed in the dance reality show Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva on Vijay TV in 2008 and was a finalist in Dhee Ultimate Dance Show (D4) on ETV in 2009.
A career in film

Debut, ground-breaking, and critical acclaim (2015-2016)
Premam Pallavi (2014)
While studying in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 2014, Alphonse Puthren offered her the role of Malar in his film Premam. She completed the film during the holidays and then returned to her studies. That same year, she won several "Best Female Debut" awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
She took a month off from school in late 2015 to film her second film, Kali, which was released in March 2016. She was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Malayalam for her performance as Anjali, a young wife who must deal with her husband's extreme anger issues.
As an established actress (2017-present), she made her Telugu debut in 2017 with Sekhar Kammula's Fidaa, playing Bhanumathi, a fiery Telangana village girl. Her performance in the film was named one of the "100 Greatest Decade Performances" by Film Companion. She went on to win her first Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress. Her next collaboration with director A. L. Vijay was Diya, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual film that did well at the box office.
Pallavi in the Rowdy Baby photo shoot (2018)
Later, she co-starred with Dhanush in the Tamil film Maari 2, a sequel to Maari (2015), directed by Balaji Mohan. The most viewed song on YouTube from South India is "Rowdy Baby," a song from the film.
Pallavi began filming for the film Padi Padi Leche Manasu with Sharwanand in February 2018, which was a commercial flop. Several news outlets reported in December that she refused to accept her full remuneration, expressing solidarity with the producers for the film's failure. In 2019, she co-starred with Fahadh Faasil in the psychological thriller Athiran as an autistic girl.
She was named one of India's 30 under 30 by Forbes magazine in 2020. She was the only member of the film industry on the list. She also appeared in Vetrimaaran's Netflix anthology film series Paava Kadhaigal segment Oor Iravu. In 2021, she co-starred with Naga Chaitanya in the romantic drama Love Story, her second collaboration with Sekhar Kammula after Fidaa (2017), and Shyam Singa Roy opposite Nani in their second collaboration after MCA. In 2022, she starred in the Telugu film Virata Parvam alongside Rana Daggubati. She dubbed her own lines in Telugu and Kannada for her Tamil film Gargi. Her next film will be in Tamil, co-starring Sivakarthikeyan, and will be produced by Kamal Hassan through Raaj Kamal Films International and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy. And she is currently in talks with Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar's direction, Allu Aravind's Geetha Arts production presents Ramayana to play Goddess Sita, starring Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor, which will give her her Bollywood debut.
In the news
In June 2022 in an interview with GreatAndhra, she commented that the film The Kashmir Files portrayed the killings of Kashmiri Pandits, during the 1990 exodus, and further asked if that is a religious conflict then what should be the difference between itself and cow vigilantism, referring to a recent incident where a Muslim was driving cows was beaten up and later forced to chant "Jai Shri Ram". The interview quickly went viral and drew criticism online. She later issued a clarification statement on her Instagram handle, saying that her statements in the interview had been misconstrued and that she would never trivialise a tragedy or accept mob lynchings.
